This is the stupidest article that I have read today, it's comparing a console controller to a fucking portable gaming device.

N4G is pro, bro, other than the part where middle schoolers writing their articles, I guess.

The Vita is optional for any PS3 owner. And there goes all the potential third party support.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Vita + PS3 has a ton of potential, but it's not even remotely fully utilized at this point. More games that support Cross Buy would be one step in the right direction, as well as PS3/Vita games in which Vita's features can actually improve the experience beyond making it portable.
On the other side, most Wii U games will utilize the GamePad to some capacity, and at least one game (ZombiU) seems to be making the case for a different, GamePad-centric experience.

Being that the PS-Vita/PS3 will (likely) see less than 25 or 50 games that ever support this, it is meaningless to compare it to the Wii U which may see thousands of games.
I see what Sony is doing. They're making it seem like the Vita and the Wii U are close competitors. They're trying to tap the Wii U vs Vita mentality into consumers subconscious. So whenever consumers think of the WIi U, they'll automatically think off the Vita. Therefore, if the Wii U is huge and a lot of people think about it, then a lot of people will think about the Vita too.
Smart move Sony. EA did the same thing last year with Battlefield Vs Call of Duty.
The vita and ps3 can do the same things the wiiU can do. They are are more expensive, but the vita is a stand alone console unlike the wiiU tablet. But this is a stupid argument thats been had a ton of times already.
Time for hype
The WiiU is more powerful than the Vita and PS3 combined, and its cheaper also....so theres no contest
I can't wait to play split screen Call of Duty Black Ops 2 where one player uses the PS3 while the other player has his own screen on the Vita! One of us will probably use the Playstation Move, too!
