This is a pretty good start. I mean look at Super Smash started out with only 12 characters and slowly worked its way up to 36.

Smash Bros was also released in 1999.  Games have become bigger and better since them.  Hyrule field was huge back in the day.  Now, it's a tiny hub.  Twenty characters is very low for a modern fighting game, plus the roster is pretty disappointing.  If they had twenty good characters, things would be different.  Seriously, you have 20 characters, and you have a space for Fat Princess and Big Daddy?  Smh.

Superbot did say there will be DLC. Dont get your panties in a bunch now. I also doubt that list is final because the game comes out in November. Theres still time for reveals.

Pay for the full game, then pay more so you have a decent sized roster with the good characters!  Fun fun fun.

Pretty disappointing, to be honest. Only characters I want to try are 3rd party.

Or just wait for the game to drop price and get the DLC free! :)

or maybe quite possibly if you're actually a playstation fan you already consider the game to have "good" characters

its funny though most of the people in here are not playstation fans and for the most part are the ones bashing the roster

"Twenty characters is very low for a modern fighting game"

persona 4 arena just released with 13 : http://www.gamesradar.com/persona-4-arena-roster/

From that list - The only characters I would want to play as is Raiden, Heihachi and Spike. I wouldn't hold my breath for charactes like Snake, Cloud( any FF) - Any big name characters from Japanesefranchise. No way there let gonna some unproven company handle there goods. Which is the B class( Raidn, Heihachi) and C( Dino) class was issued out instead.

"The only characters I would want to play as is Raiden, Heihachi and Spike"

so basically you're surprised that you don't like the roster of a game based on playstation characters even though you do not yourself like playstation characters?

sid shuman is one of sony's representatives and he himself posted that to his twitter account

https://twitter.com/sidshuman

and beyond that to be honest the article you posted has claims that aren't really backed up with any facts

...at this point people need to just look at the roster as is and decide if they care about the characters shown

...if not embrace then fact that the game isn't for you

Hope Nathan Hale is in DLC

It still sucks that a good chunk of the characters will be in DLCs and not in the main game, it looks like something Capcom would do...

Unless all future character updates are given for free, rather than paid DLC:

Given the fact that Starhawk launched with completely free updates recently from Sony, I wouldn't put this past them either.

(It raises a whole other issue of the people who still aren't connected to the internet and are buying this as an offline game, though).
