woot woot, new personal record for survival mode, 82 years as a sheep. Actually should be able to get it a bit higher, I had to save since it's getting late. Hopefully I can make it to the 100 year trophy tomorrow.

I thought the same thing after playing the tutorial. Then I tried to do story mode and it made me do the same tutorial again. So I was pretty fed up with it already when I tried survival mode. Got my ass handed to me, decided to give it another go anyway, and another, and another....

My current best is 62 years with the chicken of all things. I just managed to defeat the Tosa boss and got to play a lioness in story mode, taking out whole packs of hyenas in record time. Tip, use dodge after R1 strike to be able to immediately attack again.
The grazers are fun too. I did 7 generations of bunnies in 1 go. The rabbits run so fast it feels like you have all the time in the world to do everything, as long as you don't get caught of course. In 1 mad dash I had at least 15 predators trailing behind me, lions, bears, hyenas, dogs, I kept runnning into new packs. High stamina for continuous dodging and double jump saved me. Yet I still missed the 'find station parking lot' challenge, where the heck is it.

I finally made it past the 100 year mark. 108 years with a wolf. It was a tough struggle. I almost died of old age a couple of times due to crocodiles, bears and black panthers driving me away from the territory and one time a crocodile ate the prime mate just before I could get there. Out of desperation I finally managed to take down a lonely velociraptor in the woods. Thanks to a temporary attack boost item it went down in 2 critical attacks, with a clean getaway after the first one.

Just before the 80 year mark, food scarcity and toxicity drove me into the sewers. That turned out to be a blessing. Random luck had it populated with plenty of easy food to stay in there for another 20 years, although panthers slowly started taking over the place.

I claimed all the flags and ran around with a mate, taking my time after each kill. I still lost my siblings to the pumas yet made it to the nest before succumbing to old age. (You don't out right die of old age, your abilities decrease every year past 15, especially the hunger gage) I found an underground facility to the far right of the sewers but the entrance from the sewers is locked. I have no idea how to get in there.

After I got the 100 year trophy I tried to go back out to witness the 'rabbits have gone crazy multiplying event' yet every exit was blocked by homo erectus. Very dangerous in groups and you can't eat them. I used a stamina item to make a mad dash through the park with a full tribe of 50 after me. I had no choice, no more food, only 1 sibling left. My last sibling didn't make it out of the park, alone I ventured onto the subway tracks. I wondered what's that laying on the ground. It turned out to be sleeping homo erectus, bam dead, they got me :( Curiosity got me in the end.

Next see if I can get a full set of challenges completed. Either I run out of time or the "Find ...." challenge gets me.

I finished the story after a couple of epic sessions last night. The chimpanzee was fun to play but doesn't have any new animal to unlock. They are grazers that are pretty good at defending themselves. Dressing up a monkey never gets old either.

The buck had two animals to unlock at both ends of the maps. Surviving toxicity and dodging alligators, lions, bears, wolves, tosas to steal the territories away from the cheetahs and the bears in a desperate dance luring them away from mark points was the most intense yet.

I collected the last data discs with the sheep. It's a good thing they have lots of lambs cause everything will be after you. After unlocking the next animal I collected the key from the park and set out to explore the underground facility to collect the final data discs. Pretty cool place that gets explained in the final story mission. and is now open to normal survival play.

The story sessions get harder and better as the game gets along and the last one is a pretty damn great ending to a unique game. I did not expect it would go there and the final boss battle was a lot of fun.

Now let's see if I can finally get a full set of challenges done with the cheetah.
