Forums - Nintendo - Wii U: Best Launch Line-up Ever?

The Tekken game looks great! So does everything else. Assassin's Creed is a franchise I am not too fond of, nor COD. Nice diverse lineup, I hope their online shop is open on day one with some titles, too. I think all 3 console makers are going to have a hard time during this upcoming generation, I don't think that anything is stacked against the Wii U in particular. Nintendo correctly pointed out years ago that graphics really don't matter anymore. Look at where the growth is, in tablets and smart phones. The graphics on most of those games aren't cutting-edge. They key is to have something to compete with that market... and a strong launch lineup, followed by good relationships with developers and a strong library of more casual games will set a good place at the table for Nintendo. They have to compete with more than just Microsoft and Sony now, and should be more worried about the iPad than the PS4.

We ALL wanted it, now we ALL are finally going to get SHENMUE III !!! Let us REJOICE IN THE STREETS!!!

No Rayman and Pikmin day one? Dissapointing, but still the strongest launch when you compare it to any recent console launches. Nice mix of games in there. While there are far more "launch window" games I want, out of these there's definitely at least a few that I'll pick up, NSMB U and probably Assassins Creed 3. not sure what to think about Zombie U yet, I'll wait for reviews. I was burned once with a Ubi exclusive at launch (Red Steel) so I want to make sure that doesn't happen again. Most of the good stuff seems to be coming later this year or early next, gives me some time to save up for all the games which is nice

NSMBU, Nintenod land and ZombiU for meeee!

According to CDON.com, a retailer from Norway, this lauch line-up sucks big time.

That 's why they had to include Fire Emblem, Doom 4, Endless Ocean, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, Kingdom Hearts, Nintendogs Kennel, Red Steel III, and Trauma Center on it - and more!

I mean, it probably isn't, but...

Edit: Lawl, Circle Pad Pro for Wii U. Why didn't Nintendo design it with three thumbsticks in the first place?

the above in my opinion is one of the worst launch lineups its a 2012 new nex-gen console launch, the rest are already availiable on other consoles. i wouldnt be able to nominate any of them to be next gen, but i guess wel have to wait till E3 when the true real picture shines through on what wiiU is capable of

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Better than the Wii launch lineup BY FAR. The biggest Wii game... was also available on the GameCube in a largely identical form. And everyone is vastly underestimating New Super Mario Bros. 2, the first 2D Mario game to launch a Nintendo console since the SNES. Not to mention the fact that it will be the first "New" game that feels like an actual evolution of classic Mario, as opposed to a throwback.

Wow I just realized this launch lineup completely sucks for me. I'm sure Nintendo only gamers will love the ports and multiplat games but all of a sudden I'm realizing I don't even like the remaining games that much. Apart from zombiu which will be fun at most, not a single launch game interests me. Don't get me wrong I still want a Wii U day one, I just don't know what I'd be playing on it. Down the line there are lots of games I want but launch window=/=launch day.

Is anyone else (that actually wants the system) noticing this or am I all alone?

No, you are not. This is going to be my first Nintendo console I won't be buying day 1, actually...

I'm definitely going to get it sometime in 2013, but as for launch, no. None of the launch titles interest me very much at all.
