Forums - Nintendo - Frustrated at my Wii!!!!

Okay sorry if this was posted already I didn't feel like going through many pages to try to find a similar thread. But okay here's my problem: My Wii has some disc errors, not all the time but since I purchased it, meaning january 15th, I got 4 disc errors. I had 1 with Wii sports and 3 with TP.

And don't tell me to see if the disc is scratched or dirty I've already checked that or worse, don't ask me if I'm putting the disc in the wrong side, I'm not a moron and I take really great care of my consoles and games.

So anyways, is it normal or should I get it replaced?

Just call nintendo tech, i have never heard of that but i waited in line for 8 hours on the first day to get my wii and it couldn't get online. They sent me a brand new Wii and a players guide for TP.

I've had like 1-2 disk read errors over the course of 1 year. I don't really consider it a problem, because I've had the same with my Gamecube.

Since we're talking about Wii problems, does anyone have the problem where they start a game (or hit home->reset while in game) and have the screen go black, and the controllers never reconnect and the game doesn't start. I then have to get up and physically hit the power button until it completely shuts off (red light)

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Call Nintendo. I think the Ninny warranty is 90 days, so you'll be fine. I doubt you'll have to wait 8 hours, though. I would have given up after 5 minutes on hold ...

More details: I insert the disc, the game comes up on the Wii channel but when I choose to play it, it does weird noises and it sais there's a disc error to take out the disc and turn the Wii off.

@ nordlead: Did you updated your firmware?
One of the updates fix that problem

"weird noises" are always bad , get it replaced

I had a problem with my Wii a while back. I called them and they shipped me a new one with a box to return the old one in. It's a really simple process.

Also, their warranty is 1 year and if you register your Wii it adds another 3 months to that.

Not sure if its a problem, but the blue light around the disc entrance glows on and off when its turned off. My gf mentioned it makes it look like its breathing... creepy!! It makes for fancy light shows in the early mornings when all the lights are off.

Nah, that's the best feature. You can turn the light off in the Wii settings if it's a bother.

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.
