That seems about right for the rest of the year. Hopefully there's a game coming that gives it some more fire power at retail. |
well, hopefully those games appearing on psp as well will be purchased for vita.. like one piece.

Sales?
Add COD, SF vs T, AC and AKB and cut ZOE and VLR (already released)
Why you always think I say vita has no (quality) games? It has lots. It's always sales.
Reminder, I never talk bad of quality in games, ever.
| PhantomLink said: Terrible. -Too many Vita/PSP games -Ports of Muramasa and Senran Kagura (probable going to sell 50K each) -Valhalla Knights 3 is OK I guess but it wont help the Vita -I'm still gonna buy a Vita for Persona 4 |
Only Muramasa is a port and it will have new content, but your point is that it wasn't a very good conference which is true.

Well, ps3 didn't have it's first big selling 1st party game until 2 years in. Lots of systems don't have huge games within their first year. THat's generally how it is. I don't think vita will be off too badly in Japan the rest of this year, and then in spring there are some bigger games coming out.

The problem is that the PS3 was a system that's sold better than Vita and was born with:
Gran Turismo
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy VersusXIII
Metal Gear Solid
Devil May Cry
Lots of others...
all mainlines and all exclusives - of your list, only LBP, AC and COD are, none has much impact in japan.
Plus, it's competitor (3DS) is doing way better than the Wii. 3DS will outsell wii's lifetime next year, probably before the middle of it. When compared, Vita is selling at almost dreamcast levels. You saw the charts, it would collide with it if not for Hatsune Miku, and now it's almost back to old levels.
Third and most important... it's securing all really important franchises. And it's important to note, that vita does not have his 360 like the PS3 had.
Anyway, I don't think that all is over, like I said some post above, announce some key games and see how fast things change (or at least start to change). But it's going to be very hard, the key here is Sony making some sacrifices, imo - like important moneyhats or price cut.
So the biggest things from the conference were the new ps3 model, new vita colors and the three marvelous games?

From the live blog I cant find any information about Muramasa *_*
Did they announce what kind of new content will be added to the Vita version? |
That's all they've said I think.
Wii version plus extras, don't know exactly what yet.

what do you mean by "was born with"? You mean that the games were expected to eventually be released?
Gran turismo was a year and a month after, metal gear, 1 year 6 months ff13 was three years one month.

Senran Kagura coming to Vita? That's huge! And from what I see it's a brand new episode :)

Yup, expected. They were all staples of PS3 - and back then, jumping ship, especially from the almighty PS2 was not very expected - no shit it caused so much shock when it finally happened.
That's the weakest part of my argument though. The strongest is 3DS Marketshare and userbase vs Vita's.Different kind of public, I know... but it'll be so distant soon it'll be hard to not highly concetrate support.
We'll see. TGS (and gen) has not even started yet. There's two potential Final Fantasies (X and Type-0) for Vita that could cause quite an impact, plus you-know-who can always show up at Capcom's conf. I'm very looking foward to what's left.
