Well, ps3 didn't have it's first big selling 1st party game until 2 years in. Lots of systems don't have huge games within their first year. THat's generally how it is. I don't think vita will be off too badly in Japan the rest of this year, and then in spring there are some bigger games coming out. |
The problem is that the PS3 was a system that's sold better than Vita and was born with:
Gran Turismo
Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy VersusXIII
Metal Gear Solid
Devil May Cry
Lots of others...
all mainlines and all exclusives - of your list, only LBP, AC and COD are, none has much impact in japan.
Plus, it's competitor (3DS) is doing way better than the Wii. 3DS will outsell wii's lifetime next year, probably before the middle of it. When compared, Vita is selling at almost dreamcast levels. You saw the charts, it would collide with it if not for Hatsune Miku, and now it's almost back to old levels.
Third and most important... it's securing all really important franchises. And it's important to note, that vita does not have his 360 like the PS3 had.
Anyway, I don't think that all is over, like I said some post above, announce some key games and see how fast things change (or at least start to change). But it's going to be very hard, the key here is Sony making some sacrifices, imo - like important moneyhats or price cut.
