 But Sonic can't.  He sinks...  He can hold his breath and run underwater, but can not swim....

 (do they let Sonic swim in the Olympics game...?  If so, that would just be wrong...)

To me smash brothers is at it's heart a mixture of franchises that gamers love. That's not to say you have to personally love each of the franchises represented. I had no idea who the hell game & watch, marth, roy, or the ice-climbers were when i picked up melee but that didn't hurt the experience for me.

so why not include a few third party characters that were widely popular but on the ps2. it fit's in perfectly with nintendo's commitment to E for Everyone. I think it's smart. Bring it on Sora if you so wish to join the fight.
