damnit... I don't think I could continue to play a game while taking a dump on the toilet by taking the gamepad with me.. -_-"

Beaware, the tablet may slip into the comode and you are good for $150 again. :P

I can play pretty much anywhere in my house and back garden. Neat!

Yes.

Not that this would affect me that much right now, if i were getting it. BUt wasnt one of the big deals about Wii U is that the tablet could be used anywhere in your house. 24ft would be a small house,(im of course talking about houses) hell I was able to use the remote play feature on PSP from a damn neighbors house. Unless they are talking strictly it being used in conjunction with the system at the same time.

@nightdragon I dont mind 3-5 hours for a portable device personally cause im never anywhere where i would need it to be on for that amount of time without access to a jack. But 3-5 seems short for what is essentially the controller, especially when the otjher controllers have much longer life. I guess i would have it plugged into the Wii U old school style

A 24 foot range sounds pretty good to me. If someone wants to go upstairs or has a large house they'd probably have to relocate their console but it should suffice for most situations.

That's actually a lot further range than I thought. I was thinking maybe half that, but something like would let you pick up the controller and take it into the kitchen or even bathroom. I wonder if there is a line of sight that has to be maintained with the console though.

The accessory manufacturer that comes up with a "signal booster/repeater" accessory for Wii U that lets people play all over a large house is going to make a lot of money though.

8 meters covers roughly 80% - 90% of my home, very neat! I guess this is because it's WiFi not Bluetooth?
Regarding the battery thing, considering Nintendo is charging 13000-ish Yen for the gamepad (anywhere between 120$ - 160$ or as much as the Wii itself!!!), they'd better have one huge Li-Ion inside that thing to power all the streaming, and that 6.2 inch LCD etc for at least 12 hours.

Given how small my apartment is that won't be a problem.

This is the Game of Thrones

Where you either win

or you DIE

so, there will be no children sneaking the controller to their room to keep playing at night

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

There goes my dream of playing console games while sitting on the toilet.

8 metres is fine.
