Forums - Nintendo - Japanese Wii U Launch Titles Campared To Other Launches

It's a hell of a line-up. Comparable to or maybe even better than the vita line-up even.

What the heck did the vita have on launch?  Last time I checked it started really slow thanks to it lacking strong launch titles in Japan.

Plus a bunch more launch window titles. It certainly doesn't lack quality nor quantity but it lacks system-sellers. This was for Japan, personally I think the western list is stronger.

Didnt they mention hokuto no ken too? not a system seller but a nice little thing to have for the Hokuto fans.

I guess that's a long list of games, but it's average. Nothing to sell a system really. For a console to have strong launch titles it needs to have at least one system seller. I'd say with Mario and Call of Duty that the Wii-U is surely ahead of the Vita. I mean with Tekken, Fifa, Rayman Legends, Wii-u Fitness game, Scribblenauts, a Wario game, The Wonderful 101, Lego City Undercover, Nba2k13, Pikmin 3!, Assassins creed 3. Zombi-U. All in the launch window. I don't know how you can't say that isn't insanely more impressive than the launch window titles of the Vita. On top of that, they're getting a bunch of already released 3rd party titles ported over for around launch. Which is going to strengthen the library.

Because I've already played/can get 6 of those games on my PS3 and PC and there are similar amounts of games in Vita's launch line-up that appeal to me. On top of that, they're getting a bunch of already released 3rd party titles ported over for around launch. Which is going to strengthen the library.

Don't get me wrong, it's still fucking great. Personally it's on-par with vita I think. not... personally (?) it's better and has more... well, it has system selling titles.

In your opinion I guess, but from a technical sales standpoint having Mario, Pikman 3, Rayman Legends, Better version of Tekken (look it up), Wario, Zombi-U and Lego city makes it better then the vitas line up already. I only see 5 games you can get on your PC/PS3 by the way.  Where's the 6th?

NBA, Fifa, Tekken,, Assassins Creed, and Black Ops are the 5 I see that are on other platforms.

You missed a pretty key PS3 launch title.

What a system seller there. I would of gotten a ps3 at launch if I knew about that game.

Well, I was referring to launch window titles.  Secondly, I was only including upcominng unreleased titles in my list.  As the older titles people probably already have for their current consoles.  The new games coming out might have somebody lean to buying the Wii-U version if they're getting a Wii-U for Nintendo games, or if they just want the tablet controllers ease of use and better more stable frame rate in games.
