Forums - Gaming - Iphone 5 vs Lumia 920

Also, sure android is great and all on some phones.. but it is a horrible operating system with glitches up the ass.. and is horribly managed.. how sad is it that google launches an update and it comes out for two phones out of the 100 plus android phones, and usually isn't even compatable with more than a quarter of those phones.. My android won't even get ice cream sandwitch and it launched last year.. and runs gingerbread..

while the iphone 3gs is still getting iO6.. I loved android because of how open and custom it is.. and intuitive, but the iphone 4 I had before my android phone was more fluid.. and just overall better than my droid..(this is all my opinion of course..)

Haha, funny article. Oh it wasn't a joke article? Sure seemed like it...

Iphone 5 unveiled today, leaving alot of media bemused by what appears to be a very average spec phone in tech. Iphone 5 didnt create any buzz today, like Iphone used to. Maybe due to an average dislay, camera and featues by todays standards. Lumia 920 created the most buzz, with its amazing display and Pureview camera. The figures are acurate.

Tell that to my facebook friends. People don't care about specs, they care about the label.

Rumors have the Lumia 920 releasing last week of October/first week of November. Hardly a much longer wait for a clearly superior phone imo.

The Windows Phone 8 doens't exist yet... I can't see the 920 releasing this year.

Windows 8 and WP8 will be released on the 28th of October and these Phones are set for this year. Phones, W8 Tablets, Surface, New Office are all set for this year. The only thing missing is the Next Box but i can see the update for Live being released on October 28 aswell.

The Camera is good enough and so is the screen, it's also nice to have something different than rounded squares which seems outdated now. Frankly, I was excited by the iPhone 4 launch but I didn't even knew the iPhone 5 was launching this month.

All those threads made me notice Nokia's next smartphone and I'm really excited by the 920. The larger screen, being able to use it with glove, the better camera (the DSLR argument is ridiculous, like anyone liking to take pictures wants to carry a DSLR) and the best of all no iOS which chains you to iTunes...

Thanks Selnor for making this thread, Lumia 920 will be mine this spring.

People still don't get the concept of overshooting a market even though we've had half a decade of PS3/360 struggling against the Wii?

The iPhone 5's screen is not inferior - Apple consciously designed it at 4" because more than 4" is too big for a lot of people (like 90% of females). And stuff like refresh ratio and such... yeah, that's just tech talk. In the end both screens will look very similar. Same goes for the camera which is a bit better on the Lumia.

What people don't seem to take into consideration is the materials these phones are built from. The iPhone 5 is made out of a single piece of aluminum, glass and steel. Most Android Smartphones are made of plastic. This definitely helps to make the phone feel more quality.

As for iOS vs Android... yeah that comes down to your preferences.

In the end it's the same as always: Stay calm and just enjoy your smartphone! The difference in quality between the Galaxy S3, the iPhone 5 and the Lumia 920 is so small you're gonna need a magnifying glass to tell which one is "better". It's just utter bullshit bitching about every single smartphone released because it is not revolutionary enough. Comparing specs on a smartphone is equally stupid. It's about the user experience! Not the specs.

Oh the day when I can just bring my iPhone to any Restaurant or whatever without people telling me that Apple sucks will be a glorious day. It surely will signal that heaven on earth is near. I miss the 90's when Apple was that small struggling company and I could just use their products and no one cared. Today whenever Apple releases... anything people will feel personally threatened by it. The good old days

Nokia 920 W8 FTW .

I love the Apple defenders, reminds me of the SDF and the current Wii-U "under-powered is the new over-powered" crew. There are currently better phones on the market now. I saw the specs of the new phones coming out and I thought it was just me that was wowed by the new nokia and wp8....

Just because you chose to quote a famous dead person does not mean that you are some type of intellect nor does it mean that the quote in question is correct.

It really depends on your definition of what makes a phone better, doesn't it? Some people want the fastest CPU or the thinnest phone others want a big screen or a phone that is small enough to fit inside your pocket easily. Others even want a phone that lasts 3 days on a single charge while under use (that's so 2005 isn't it?

Touche'. But yeah, man....I remember those once a week charge phones...a perfect segway to say that the standby on the Lumia is bananas compared the the iphone5. Heh-heh.
