Something i've never known (also known as another part in the series of "Mr Khan is too lazy to google this"), what the hell is a Flop? It seems to measure computing "capacity" as opposed to computing "speed." What's the deal there?

FLOP is an abbreviation of FLoating-point OPeration, basically a flop is taking 2+ floating point numbers and performing a calculation. A floating point number is how computers store a real number, which is a number with a decimal point basically. Vs intigers which are whole numbers "1,2,3 etc".

...So, in layman's terms, it's number of things done per period of time?

Well a FLOP is just one "thing" FLOPS would be number of "things" per seccond.

Because I disagree with you obviously means "I'll believe anything as long as it is negative".  Obviously.  Or maybe we just happen to disagree.  Also, I fail to see in that press release the part where it says Power7.  Maybe you can point that out.  And of course no inside source has ever leaked true information before... not even when it was revealed prematurely that Project Cafe would have a touch screen controller.  Leave the leaks to the industry professionals, of course.

But you've missed my point entirely.  Going back to my original post I said that a rumor is just a rumor, and we won't know exactly what kind of hardware the Wii U is made of until a consumer buys one and busts it open.  You happen to be the only one between us that is saying with no doubt what kind of guts the console has.  So obviously you can provide pictures of some sort?  Nope, just going by a rumor.  Rumors = potential truths... they're all worth nothing until proven right. Just because I've said that I think one rumor might be right over another is far different from saying that I know the truth.  And what I'm leaning toward isn't even a negative rumor.

So let's hold onto these ideas for when we get actual facts handed to us after launch.  Although conversing with you has been such a pleasure.

I'm not saying I know what is in the console, I'm saying I know what isn't in the console ...

IBM has explicitly stated that the Wii U processor is based on the Power architecture, is using their most advanced technology, and is based on the same technology that was used in their Watson super computer. In no way does this match up with a 3 core PowerPC 7xx processor.

IBM stopped R&D on the PowerPC 7xx based processor years ago, and the Wii's Broadway processor was the last chip developed in that line. There is no reason to believe that either IBM or Nintendo wanted to continue with this CPU, there is no advantage and it would likely cost more in R&D to modify this CPU to perform well than to take (something like) a Power7 processor and get it to run at a lower temperature; and IBM would be highly interested in reducing the energy consumption of the Power7 to open up new markets for it down the road.

Proof that Wii is using a CPU based on IBM's Power7 processor!!!!

In the back of my mind I really hope that you're closer to the truth, that the Wii U has more powerful insides than this rumor says.  Chances are that neither this rumor, nor your assumption will be exactly how it turns out, that's usually how things end up.  I've just seen numerous rumors for so long be so consistent with the opposing architecture.  It just wouldn't make sense that so many people would falsify information (so similar to one another) for no real reason.  It certainly wouldn't be for attention, since they're all anonymous.  Anyway, I think more importantly than chatting in circles about rumors like this is the price.  Luckily we'll know in just over half a day.  And hopefully immediately after that, people behind the scenes can talk freely about what the console is capable of.  Maybe sooner than later threads like this will be useless, and the discussions within them even useless-er.  Nintendo, I'd like the truth now.

Out of the 4 links, only the first two were any sort of 'official' confirmations.  The 4th article is simply restating your 3rd one (it links back to it, they are the same story)...  And it is based all on rumor.  Please no more rumors.  None of this is new information that hasn't been discussed on this page, anyway.

Naogf guy is confirmed fake is making up a lot of bs on there.

If you read some of his comments you can tell he trolling and knows nothing.

Does anyone know if wiiu games will be 1080p standard or most of the time 720p like 360/PS3?
It seems to me these specs would indicate 720p will be the best we get if the game is running at the right speed...

From what I've heard, all Nintendo 1st party games will be 720p.  Other than that, it's up to each individual developer to see how far they can push the console.  My guess is that there will be more 3D games in native 1080p than this generation's HD consoles, but the majority might remain 720p (to ensure a solid fps).  We can assume that all 2D games will be 1080p.  This is just my guess at this moment.

seems powerful enough to run more mario rehashes!

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.
