Well... called it about FF4 AND FF6 being above FF7.
I told you. It's just how most critics roll.... because even today most critics have been playing before the NES generation.
You could tell it was going to go that way with all the love given to the more obscure, less talked about RPGS including computer based ones.
This was a list made by people who have played a LOT of RPGs.
FF6 as 1 is well deserved.
Would I make the same list the exact same way? No. However, I think they did do a really good job of it. Still don't get Ogre Battle being their and Lordly Person not though.
I guess they put Ogre Battle ahead for it starting that unique trend. Fair enough. Likely why Pokemon was up there as well.
For sure I thought Black/White was going to be the only pokemon to show up. (Though i'd disagree with said reasoning.)
The lower levels end up a bit jumbled but that's just how lists like this are bound to get.
Really a good show all around.

To be more explanitory, System shock is the predecessor to Bioshock.
Much like the FF6/FF7 divide. Much fewer people played System Shock games when they came out. However those who have played it pretty much all agree it's better then Bioshock.
It's some people's opinions, that's all. they just happen to be able to put theirs on the web and get paid for it.

Fable 2 of all games made the list. When Fable 2 is absolute garbage.
Diablo and Baldur's Gate are overrated.
No Dragon Age, simply pathetic.
Elder Scrolls too low obviously. The best selling RPG of all time (Skyrim) should be number one. Either that or Morrowind or Oblivion should have topped the list.
Both Demon's Souls (#70, give me a break) and Dark Souls are too low.

That just sounds like sour grapes based on your previous posts in the thread.
I tried to warn you guys.
Say what you want about IGN, but they're mostly seasoned players who have played a lot of games from all the generations... as can be shown on how widely inclusive the list is.

Anyway, happy Deus Ex, Ultima Underworld 1 and Fallout 2 are in the list, but they should be at least in the Top 20. And Morrowind should rank better than Oblivion.
