Well this is incredibly basic. It plays like one of the first games that came out on the original DS years ago.

Based on what was shown in the clip, I see no benefit of having this on two screens.

nor i.

i have to echo the other responses in this thread.   the game looks as basic and shallow as an IOs game.   ..this is not what i want out of a home console.  ..this is not what i want from nintendo.  ..this is not even unique.

This is not the whole game.  Only a very small segment of it.  It's like looking at the ring toss stand at the fair/carnival/theme park while ignoring the roller coasters and proclaiming the whole event as too simplistic based on the ring toss stand.

This is the point of NintendoLand...to offer many differnt play types and play depths for everyone.   Just like a theme park would/should.

In addition to what you said, the minigames should first and foremost show the benefits of having the two screens. So far Nintendo has not shown any other (Wii-sports-like) game that would undertake this task at launch, so I have to assume that Nintendo Land is that game. And this Balloon Trip thing looks like pure filler.

Balloonland (VC) gets a lot of play from me so I'm glad to see any return to the series but this game is typical of what I find fundimentally flawed with WiiU. It looks like a iOS/Android game which would be cheap or free on those platforms. Nintendo is stupid, let me stress that - STUPID - to put any game on WiiU that directly compares with those platforms. It's a comparison that WiiU can't win. Nintendo must focus on gameplay that you CAN'T do on tablets/smartphones. Yes, Nintendoland has a lot, but every game like this in the package actually works against WiiU's value proposition.

Rant over. Now I want to play it.

Looks like a DS to me in respect to gameplay, swipes on the pad while looking at the TV.

You say tomato, I say tomato

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

According to chrotendo, which I trust way more than wikipedia, this was the first project by HAL for Nintendo.

Satoru Iwata must be super proud of this game because of that. His first kid!
