Forums - Gaming - New Nokia Lumia 920. Nice!

This is looking very interesting and I am very tempted by it (never thought I'd say that about a Windows phone!).

At last Nokia have a phone that can compete at the high end. I suppose the only question is how good will Windows 8 be on phones and whether consumers take to the OS. I don't upgrade until January so I'll have plenty of time to survey the mobile landscape

Sold! I'd prefer a slide out physical keyboard like my HTC 7Pro but hey ho.

Looks great (the Lumia line has by far my favorite SP design), got great features, but the 920 has one disadvantage imo. Specs taken from manufacturers' sites:

Nokia Lumia 800 - 142 g (my current phone, love it)
Nokia Lumia 820 - 160 g   http://www.nokia.com/global/products/phone/lumia820/

Nokia Lumis 900 - 160 g
Nokia Lumia 920 - 185 g   http://www.nokia.com/global/products/phone/lumia920/

Apple iPhone 4s - 140 g
Apple iPhone 3GS - 135 g
Samsung ATIV S - 135 g
Samsung Galaxy S3 - 133 g
Samsung Galaxy S2 - 116 g
Samsung Galaxy Note II - 180 g
Samsung Galaxy Note - 178 g
HTC One X - 130 g
HTC One S - 119.5 g

Nokia Lumia 920 - 185 g (70.8 x 130.3 x 10.7 mm)
Samsung Galaxy Note II - 180 g (80.5 x 151.1 x 9.4 mm)

The new flagship Lumia is too heavy for its size, at least for my taste. Heavier than the Galaxy Note II despite being smaller. I already found the 900 a bit too heavy for me. I'll keep my Lumia 800.

For those interested - Lumia size comparison:
Lumia 800 - 61.2 x 116.5 x 12.1 mm
Lumia 820 - 68.5 x 123.8 x 9.9 mm
Lumia 900 - 68.5 x 127.8 x 11.5 mm
Lumia 920 - 70.8 x 130.3 x 10.7 mm

dammit I want that but with a keyboard like my N900 ( yes I still use that phone and I love it) as I hate touch keyboards!

Awesome. Nice to see Sony and Nokia stepping up their game on smartphones. I'm tired of seeing everything being about Samsung or Apple.

I'd say "give it a try", especially that they've improved a lot . I was in your shoes once and I used to hate touch keyboards too. I bought the Xperia X10 and it was a horrible experience. I was kinda bummed that I couldn't find any decent new smartphone with a keyboard that fits me, so I went back and stuck with the n97 . I regret that cuz I type a lot faster on my iPhone now and it didn't take long to get used to it either. New Android phones/Windows phones all have great touch keybaords. Give it a second try :)

Do you have auto-corrections on? It helps if you miss a letter in each word.... Or Try phones with bigger screens!

This looks pretty cool... =)
