Forums - Sales - Japan sales week 35: Hatsune Miku week!

Incredible Vita numbers but expected. Miku got her own custom Vita and bundle. This should also have the positive effect that most people keep their vita and not resell it after they are done with the Miku game.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Sounds like a ploy to drive sales even further. Theres no way this game development costs are that high.... just look at it.

It's a licenced character (probably an expesive one). It had 30 songs composed for it. Marketing costs were probably beyond the roof. It's not a small game by any means.

Still looks like a ploy though, the games very impressive 1st weeks sales have only just been released, what were they expecting? It sold in line with all the other franchise releases and the Vita is a much smaller platform then those other systems. There is no way they would have expected much higher sales when they began developing it.

It's no ploy cause it would be the stupidest ploy ever. What's the objective of lying about it? It sold less and maybe costed more. But there's the PS3 version to help the cause next year. And while there's no sequel for a while, no one said anything about a remix version or something.

Anyway, HarmoKnight is as big as mario!!!

1 million confirmed!!!

(lol, it's just the file size, but I was shocked when I read this news title). The game is more or less 350 mb, though.

I'm impressed with the software the PSP continues to move. That's a good part of the Vita problem right there. Developers will switch over eventually, and might have already done so with games in production, but releasing a low budget PSP title looks to still be profitable. It just won't help move Vita units, though.

As far as what the Project Diva spokesman said, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Calling anything "extremely difficult" is a very typical thing for a Japanese businessperson to say. It at once lowers expectations, prompts support from fans, and puts them in a win-win position when/if they do attain the goal in question. It does not seem that he said there wouldn't be another sequel or even that there are no plans for it.

Wow I wasn't expecting a Vita boost this large

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
Impressive sales for Vita HW, but Miku underperforming compared to the PSP versions.
[PSP] Project Diva - 101,486
[PSP] Project Diva 2nd - 242,717
[PSP] Project Diva Extend - 189,196
[PSV] Project Diva f - 158,009
Is Miku the only PSV game in the chart?
Nice opening for Soul Hackers, even got above the PS1 remake!
Senran Kagura Burst opens higher than the original as well.
