"Yes, the game will probably still be right for all of us (casuals, family, friends, gamers alike), but could it also be the perfect fit just...for *U* (the hardcore; dedicated gamers)" - Reggie Fils-Aime Wii U Reveal at E3 2012. This is the quote that inspired me to make a new Wii U logo.


The Wii U logo still reminds me of the original Wii, which percieved as casual looking due to the *Wii* branding, so I made a hardcore one inspired by Lecrae's new album, Gravity, putting more emphasis on the *U*, the hardcore, and less on the casual *Wii* perception.
 

I saw the Gravity logo on the album and It's very similar to Wii U's *U*, so I got inspired to use it as the new Wii U logo. What do you think of the new logo?

Why would you ever want to be hardcore when you can be as popular as Carly Rae Jepsen's huge single?

wow never thought of thtat. now that you mentioned it, I might make a hype video with a transformers soundtrack after Nintendo's press event next week. 

"Wii W" should be reserved for the next gen. Looks like the 3rd iteration of hardware with that logo

yeah it's on September 13  Thursday, the day after the Apple Keynote. They will announced the price and release date, and some more suprises I hope.

No this one will be held next week of Sept 13 in New York at 10am EST. Not, sure if they will broadcast it live. 

But rap is practically dead. This is so last generation.

Yeah, I hated the music in the video and I can't say I like the logo very much. Trying too hard to hardcore-ify something usually results in showing that you tried too hard.  Just my opinion, though.

While I hate the name WiiU, I actually like how Nintendo's logo looks, strangely enough... even if it kinda reminds me of the blue Unilever logo you sometimes see at the end of commercials.
