What with new rumors like this, it's quite hard to say. I know it says "expects", but a new xbox or playstation is yet to be announced.

I want to talk about the new xbox, though. Which, will at least be announced next year. What with Halo 4, being the only major exclusive for the 360, in a slew of quality multi-platform games. I think Microsoft game studios are already focused on the next generation.

All these rumors about the next generation seem to be in gaming news nearly every day, now. So, we must be close.

But, if what Gamestop, says turns out to be true, I expect Microsoft to take the opportunity to launch before Sony again. It worked for xbox 360, and created a strong fanbase for the xbox, so I see them launching first. What do you think?  

100% definite. I also wouldn't put it past Microsoft to launch at E3 next year or just after with a megaton announcement like 360 slim. But I expect Dec 5th 2013.

I think it a sure thing! At least I hope it is. I am ready for a new console gen as it seems lately all I do is game on PC

looking at xbox exclusive list i think so. they just have gears of war for early next year then you got nothing..... so its probably gonna launch Q4 next year, thats what i think

I would put it at 100% as well. Microsoft wouldn't have scheduled the next Gears so early in the year (March 2013) if they planned on still having the Xbox 360 as their flagship console last next year.

Unless there are huge foundry problems, 2013.

i do think that will happen, mircosoft has had more than enough time to make their machine and produce enough of it by next september.  i wonder what launch tittels it would have, next battleField and CoD, forza and maybe a game by epic games?

My guess is November 2013. Either the 6th, 13th, or 21st. With the 5th being most likely, the 13th a strong possibility, and the 21st being the last possible day.

I'm not sure that Microsoft would try a world-wide release, however they may attempt a multi-market release. With the Americas and Europe getting a day 1 release, and Asia, Australia, and Africa getting a later release date.

100% sure we'll see it launch in US by 2013 holidays.
