Look if an enfant terrible like me can get everyone to cooperate and get more posts in a row needed then they need, moderators should certainly do it more respectfully.

and not abusing their power, they couldn't do it before they we're mods so why should they resort to such tactics now?

no, probably should have just been a warning, but I do think cone admitted he should have locked the thread so no one else could have posted. However, part of the problem could be his popularity vs. yours... and where respective threads were posted...  I mean NFSW less people saw and with you as OP might have been easily passed over especially since you explained in op? correct? that you needed / wanted 12 posts... Where as Cone didn't really explain why and made a ban comment which probably had the effect of "DO NOT PUSH THE RED BUTTON" on people

The next time you create a stupid thread that isn't ready to be an actual thread... Before baiting people with a [mod]troll trap, do what you did and reserve the first 3 posts or more if you think you'll need more, but after that... Show some common sense and lock the damn thing until it's ready for use.
