Forums - Gaming - I need some help with my Xbox360 controller :(

So, this is my problem: I wanna play some games on PC with a 360 controller, however the controller simply won't connect with my computer. It's a wired controller, and the wire is a "Play and Charge Kit". I have a XP OS, with SP3 (I think) and 32-bit.

When I connected the controller with the PC the first time new drivers were installed (apparently), but I still couldn't use the controller when I tried Arkham Asylum. So I went to Microsofts home page and downloaded drivers for XP 32-bit, ran it and installed it. Still nothing.

When I press the "guide" button on the controller it starts to flash, for quite a while, before it goes back to being dead. I can see that there's a small green light shining above the guide button, but it function. It's as if my PC can't find the controller. I got this "MS Xbox 360 accessories status" in my menu now, but it doesn't show my controller.

What's going on here? Why can't I play using the controller?? And please, no trolling. I just wanna get this shit solved.

I think you need to get to the in-game options menu and then select another controller option than keyboard/mouse. At least that's how it usually is done for me.

From experience with my ps3 controller, the moment you plug it in, regardless of what the lights say. It should start working. As THE1 says, make sure to switch your config from keyboard to controller...

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

I'm not sure if the play 'n charge kit works. I can try later, but I'm pretty sure it's just a charge port and doesn't work the same way the wired 360's usb works. I am probably totally off, but it's the only potential issue I can think of. When I connected my wired 360 controller to my PC (or macbook) it worked perfectly, instantly.

The play and charge kit doesn't work like that. It only supplies power and gives battery level info. You need a properly wired controller or a wireless adapter for your pc.

you say wired controller but plug and play kit together, if you have a wireless controller you can't do jack with the plug and play kit connected to the PC bar power the controller and you pressing the guide button which makes it flash is just it looking for an xbox to sync up with. that cable simple doesn't connect anything other than 5v of usb power into the battery pack, sorry mate.

edit this is the wired controller you want for use with the pc, note the back is just the cable directly into the controller and no battery pack.

Sorry guys, but there's no such option in Arkham Asylum or Darksiders 1...

yeah, it looks that way. But what is a wireless adapter? something you buy instead of a wire? thanks =)
