Forums - Nintendo - N64 game values

Amazon is a good way to gauge the value of older games. Not sure what method you are using. Conker's I see is currently going for 60 bucks, so $45 is actually a relatively good deal. Damn, I actually sold my copy of Conker's for somewhere around $35 a couple years back.. Should have held off.

I've sold most of my old games back through amazon. The only ones I keep are games I still play on a semi-regular basis or those weird obscure games I keep more as collectors items. I've probably made a solid 2 grand just from selling old games. Yep, I use to have a lot :P. It's actually quite a liberating feeling, and nice to get something of value from old games I probably will never play again anyway. Plus, occasionally you'll luck out and find one of your games to be quite valuable. Ended up selling my copy of Bubble Bobble 2 for 100 bucks.

Cartridge based games increase in value over time in the collectors market, because the format itself is actually less durable. Remember you are talking about hardware which can break. Which was not only packaged in a cardboard box, but was probably stored in a cardboard box. Basically over time they got broken by the original owners, or got broken by succeeding owners. So over time there are fewer available to be purchased. If your games are in what would amount to mint condition collectors will pay a premium.

Especially when it comes to 64 games when there are so few out there to begin with. They were high priced at the time, and fewer were sold. Hell some just weren't available in some areas the demand was so low. Plus add in the fact that most 64 owners to this day aren't going to sell their old games. If you still have a 64 you know you are still going to be able to play those games decades from now. Well as long as you got the memory cards to go with them.

I am pretty sure the internal memory in some carts only lasts for about twenty years.

Less durable???, i don´t think so... i even had one cartridge that was left outside in the rain (by my brother) and sun so i really touhgt it was ruined, but i only let it dry and took a chance and put it on my sistem and SURPRISE! it actually worked, i couldn't believe it. If anything i think today's disc are less durable, you have to handle with much care and just a couple of scratchs... and bye money

I'm not 100% sure but if you happen to have Ocarina of Time with the Muslim chanting in the Fire Temple and the red blood in Ganondorf's final battle that's worth a lot more than a normal copy of the game

Nintendo and PC gamer

Cartridge is by far much more durable than optical disc
i agree that cardboard boxes get ruined easily (i dont even have a single one, and i have like 9 games)

but fewer were sold?
Nintendo 64 had 50+ milion sellers dude

If anything cartridges are the most durable format out there. So, I really don't know what you're talking about.

Good to know! I have over 100 N64 games. Some cost me close to 25 dollars recently.

I am about to sell my dreamcast with 8 games for ssome extra cash. Hope I get a good offer!

I dont even know what 100 N64 games are worth being owned.   I have like 30 or something. Plus another 200 or so  NES SNES GC GB GBC GBA Wii  etc games.

As mentioned in a thread I made  2 weels ago or so  I just got a dreamcast.

I just have 1 problem  I cant connect the damn thing to my projector or TV.   I just have a shitty rf cable and my old  samsung hdtv  cant find  the frequency.  on C36.  It works on other TV's so  the cable is okay.

I would like to buy a VGA box/cable  or RGB scart cable but they are like 20/40 bucks    pffft....    So i guess I'll  make a VGA mod  would cost me like 4 bucks?  (to bad I lack  mod/solder/electronics  knowledge/skills)

Hope I wont waste my dreamcast.....

Btw.  I once "lost" a Gameboy game and half a year later after  autumn and winter and alot of snow etc. I found my "lost" game between some flowers in the garden during spring,  I cleaned it put it on the heater for a day and    it still works lol.

Bloody hell, I still have my Cube, the N64, the Game Boy Color, heck I still have my redesign NES and I'm still trying to aquire the SNES!
I got games for'em (many may not be the ones I wanted and still scouting for the ones I really do) and I won't part from them anytime soon...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

I've now been offered 100 just for those 4 games. I think I have to say yes.

use ebay to gage your prices (look at completed listings).

COnkers Bad Fur day in aus mint boxed guranteed to go for over $100AUD (which is like $104USD or so ATM).

I dont know if USA or other markets are similar crazy. here is a couple examples right now on eBay without boxes:

Are they boxed and complete? They're worth a lot more if they are.

If so, Conker alone would sell for over a hundred. Especially if it's the PAL version, those are worth more, you could try to sell a PAL Conker for like 150. Complete copies of Mario Party 2 can go for 40-50 and Mario 64 and MarioKart 64 complete can both go for 20 a piece.

Also, you always end up with more money when selling everything seperately.

True. That would be the collector's edition. Those are worth slightly more than the standard versions, especially the Australian collector's edition which can be quite expansive.
