I'm certain I've read somewhere that one can play single player; it just seems they are focussing on the multiplayer and WiiU tablet controls in all preview videos.

The Wii U has no tablet

Assuming that Ubisoft chose to make this a timted exslusive(Nintendo doesn't pay for such things) why why would you wait for the inferior version?
