Forums - Sony - PlayStation Vita update locks memory cards to PSN accounts

Sony cares a lot about developers, but hates their customers! :P (Yes I'm kidding)

This is only for EU customers? I don't know why you'd have multiple PSN accounts, but this sucks for the minority who have been playing with multiple ones. =/ This kind of brews bad energy in my mind since consumers already hated the completely overpriced memory cards, and now this is another slap in the face with regards to purchasing those overpriced things.

who cares, it's not like the vita will be on the market for long :P

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

It's better than having your whole system locked to a single account, anyways memory cards are cheap.

Yeah!  SD Memory cards are cheap!  Sony's propietary memory is the main reason I haven't bought a Vita yet!  And it looks like it may be the reason I never get one!  Sony is starting to suck out loud!

"Games are a trigger for adults to again become primitive, primal, as a way of thinking and remembering. An adult is a child who has more ethics and morals, that's all. When I am a child, creating, I am not creating a game. I am in the game. The game is not for children, it is for me. It is for an adult who still has a character of a child."

I hope this was being sarcastic.  Sony is essentially saying that you aren't allowed to lend out a game that is theoretically yours.  The fact that it is digital, and not physical, is immaterial--you bought it and if they don't like what you're doing with it, well, they can go cry because you own it now.

Not that Nintendo's any better--3DS and Wii downloaded games can't even be moved off their host system at all without a lot of hassle.

Physical copies can't be in more than one place at once. It's too easy to exchange passwords and play other people's games while they play them too. SONY need to stop things like that, but they got it right with the PSP, but there was no need to lock SEN accounts to memory cards.

I'm still confused as to why they did this...

4 ≈ One

that's a greedy move on Sony's part. It's like sony, can't get out of it's own way.

Another shot in the foot by Sony.

They sure are trying the patience of their harcore fans with the Vita. Its not a good time to be a Vita supporter...

Sigh... They are doing this because it's too easy for people to game share. I have 6 accounts on my PS3. IF my one of my friend buys something then i get it for free. That's the whole point, they are trying to cut back on it some. Sure it's a pain for people that actually use two accounts, but not many do.
