Maybe I'm missing something ... I don't see how developing high profile games with a talented producer who is disconnected from the company is like handing the company over to Ken Kutaragi.

Because after he spent the last decade twiddling his thumbs on Sony's dime, I can't imagine why Nintendo (or Nintendo fans) would want him to spend the next decade twiddling his thumbs on Nintendo's dime.

Has any Nintendo game been stuck in development hell for this long? The only thing I can remember is Twilight Princess which wasn't really in development hell, and they delayed it for the Wii's release as well. Not to mention this is a team-related problem and there's no team at Nintendo that has problems like this.

Mother 3... even more, tbh. Started in 94, released completely different in 2006. Heck, it was a super nes game at some time, then 64DD, then N64 and then GBA

I'm not surprised people are leaving if I was Sony I would have cancelled TLG and fired them all for taking so long

After the amount of money that's likely gone into this it would be crazy not to at least try to get back some of the cash. It's not a big team but the time alone speaks for itself.

Disbanding the team is something I think will happen though. SONY's shut down team LiverPool for not being productive enough and now supposedly 2 thirds of the guys on that team now work for other SONY studios. The rest are laid off... no way is Team ICO getting away with their performance.

From what I understand though, Santa Monica Studio has been brought in to help out the game. This was confirmed in February so i'm thinking we should hear about this game in the coming months.. http://www.gamespot.com/news/god-of-war-dev-helping-with-last-guardian-report-6350836

It would make sense to diverge most of the personnell through the rest of Sony Japan. Empowering SJ could oonly be good for SCE as a whole.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Aw what the hell man... First Ueda, now this guy? Well, I won't be getting my hopes up for this game anymore =/

It's pretty hard to run into problems like this one when you are making games that wouldn't have been technically demanding even 10 years ago.

Either way, hiring a guy who hasn't produced a game that hasn't been stuck in development hell doesn't seem like such a good idea.

I doubt this studio will be alive after TLG is released.

Sony closed 3 studios in the past 8 months and this one actually deserves it for not releasing anything in one generation. Sure they did cool stuff on the PS2, but a team that doesn't do anything for 7 years is not working well. How many people work there? Only thing I could find was at least 50 people work on TLG. Way too much for a revenue of 0 USD.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Clarify did not do anything.

:( Hopefully they don't stop making these great games. He is the producer so this isn't very good news.

what an ironic statement for a studio that did not release a game for 7 years now.

wow, didn't realize it was that long
