Are you sure this ranking thing isn't timed based? Like... 1-2 months time span, not necessarily lifetime sales? Because while it's fantastic, it's also almost impossible to believe this.

I thought that too, but I dunno... there is a separate filter for recent bestsellers, and I doubt Excitebike 3D is still one of the eShop's top-10 sellers from month to month.

Isn't the chart revenue based?
Not to burst your bubble, but I think its based on revenue. So NSMB2 has made the 11th.most money of everything on there. Will work it out later, but I'd say sales are nearer 100k.

That includes the free one given away when the e-shop went up and also the list is worldwide not america only

If the price is $39.99 then sales are not anywhere near 500k
if revenue is $3million which is higher than it is, since the number one title last year only sold $2.3million then thats only 75k
the true number is roughly about 30k I would think, 500k is just wishful thinking

Exactly, but I'd say the revenue for 11th would be around $1.7mil, or 50-60k. Including Europe, it'll be around 100k.
$1.7million divided by $40 equals 42.5k

Yeah, it was my mistake for not fully reading the article. I apologize for getting people's hopes up.
Good news is still that this title is moving up on the charts, just that now we don't have any numbers to go by. I'll still update it's progress, but now we don't know the numbers. :(
