Forums - Gaming - Researcher Suggests Parents Be Jailed For Buying Mature Games For Kids

So, essentially, parents don't get to be parents. I support the current law tha the kids can't buy the game themselves, but it is up to parents to decide how such content will be viewed ad participated in by their children.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

What a load of garbage.

That's all.

I think it's a good idea to expose the kids, but it's up to the parents to decide whether their kids are ready. You can shelter them forever.

I agree. The ratings are there for a reason.

Of course jail is not a reasonable penalty, but I'm in a judgemental mood right now.

So now the government knows better what is best for children than parents do.

Why don't we take it one step farther and just make it that all children are wards of the state, since adults are clearly making the wrong decisions for their children.

This is bullshit. I let my 5 year old twins boys and my 8 year old daughter watch me play COD all the time. I won't, however, let them watch me play The Walking Dead.

The guy who suggested that parents should be arrested and prosecuted, should be arrested and prosecuted.
