Forums - Sony - Should Sony Bundle PS Vita With PS3?

That would be a terrible idea.

They should bundle them together and call it the PS4. That's a brilliant idea.

It's already called the Wii U.

And the gamepad would be much cheaper than a Vita, with more touch real estate.

I don't think there is a price point where the bundle makes sense.

I don't think they could make it cheap enough to where it would be seen as a good enough deal... even if they sold one at cost.

I thought WiiU pad has a 5" screen and lacked multitouch.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

6.2 inches

And lacking is the wrong word here. Imagine for example the DS with a sensitive multitouch screen. 70% of their games wouldn't be possible, especially the most precise ones. Professor Layton, Zelda PH, Wario Ware, Brain Age, Trauma Center, Picross, ... sometimes is not only "touching" that matters.

Sometime ago, we were nodding at the possibility of Scribblenauts on Vita... on second thought, that's impossible, as it's way more precise than you fingers can be, especially on a 5 inch screen. Some things require pin point precision

6.2" is indeed impressive. I was under the assumption that i was 5", although I might have mixed it up with the 3DS XL model that is just shy of that mark.

Other than that, they have styli for capacitive screens such as the Vita and/or iPhone. You know Scribblenauts is on the iPhone right? Not to mention it is also considered to be better than the DS version. Now why can't Vita pull it off on a 5" screen but the iPhone has no issue with it's 3.5" screen? The keyboard on these devices alone make them more ideal.

You would be surprised at what you can do with a capacitive screen, regardless of the FUD spread around the net. Have you seen what people have drawn with Paint Park on Vita or the plethora of things drawn on iPhones and iPads?

Play the iphone game. You'll see what I mean. The game apparently was remade to fit that limitation. Connectng ropes, glue, etc... I think that they have no more use for this stuff.

Of course, with the special stylus, it can be the same. I never used one, never even seen one, TBH, it's something that if devs support would be great, but it's not a very foreseeable scenario. Maybe that's why the new game was just announced on pin-point capable systems (stylus, mouse (last one, even more))

Ever seen the Galaxy Note? It comes with one.

I think that was a blunder by Sony with the Vita. Considering it can use a stylus they should have packaged one.

I agree, it's a very good option.

That's a good suggestion for a revision. Should add something like 1 dollar to the price.

I never used a galaxy note, but yeah, I forgot about it. I hope it becomes a staple. The stylus emanate heat or something?

Capacitive screens work with our fingers because we are a bit electrical conductive. This type of stylus use a material that emulates the conductive characteristics of our fingers. That's why you can't use a capacitive screen with woolen gloves, as wool is an insulator.

Resistive screens (NDS/WiiU?/Old touch screen phones) just use pressure.
