Also, this video seems to confirm that Jupiter did not make this port. I can therefore theorize that Jupiter is, in fact, making TWEWY 2, unless Square-Enix has decided to develop the series internally from now on. That might not be good.

Wow, I never realized before that the Picross guys were the ones that made TWENY. Those guys are amazing!

Well, they aren't doing nothing right now - the last game - a very simple Doraemon game - was released last july, so you can be right!

Not just Picross. They also developed Ghost Trick and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, the latter likely being the reason for TWEWY's existance.

Jupiter just made 2 games.. 1 Doraemon for the 3DS.. and this one:

I never knew about CoM cause I played the PS2 version. But ghost trick I knew - but I call them the Picross guys anyway, cause... well, imo Picross is their greatest game by far, imo

I'm almost calling Hal the Picross 3D guys, instead of the Kirby guys too. Speaking of Hal, their next game is probably around the corner too! And 3DS is still without kirby... hmm

Real TWEWY fans don't care if it isn't on 3DS. Real fans only care that the game gets released.

Based on Jupiter's release history, we can assume that it is made up of multiple teams. And since TWEWY was developed in conjunction with S-E's internal Kingdom Hearts team, which has most recently worked on KH3D, I can speculate that TWEWY 2 is next. Especially since Kingdom Hearts III, the supposed next Kingdom Hearts game, is already confirmed to be developed by a different team.

So basically, I think TWEWY 2 has started development sometime earlier this year, and Square-Enix is trying to raise brand awareness through cameos in Kingdom Hearts and this new iOS port which I assume sounded much better during the business meetings.

The last games HAL worked on were Kirby's Return to Dreamland and Kirby Mass Attack, so I'd expect a new 3DS and/or Wii U game from them sometime in 2013.

On topic: I had the GBA version of CoM and I think it did a great job of squeezing KH onto a handheld. I wondered why Square-Enix went with different devlopers for the DS and PSP games... but I suppose we wouldn't have had TWEWY then.
