Keep reading the NG thread for more clarification, but you don't really need to, it's obvious Vita is not selling worldwide at japan dreamcast levels. Vita's japanese sales alone are bigger than Dreamcast japanese sales.

Vita is struggling now, but the holidays, bundling, and COD/Assassin's Creed will revive it. A bad start doesn't doom a console, look at the PS3 and the 3DS.

Buuuut while the thread is wrong and the title is all wrong, definitely Vita is being outsold by the dreamcast on a worldwide level.

Dreamcast was a hit in US, Vita is not a hit anywhere.

I think you missed the part when 

PSV worldwide sales = DC japan ONLY sales. 

Total sales DC japan ONLY. Which is a ridiculous comparison. Wonderswan did 3.2 million in japan, yet its weekly sales don't match Vita's weekly sales on the same time period.

Vita has not stopped selling and is outpacing Japanese DC sales (week to week) by a confortable level.

Err no they aren't
DC after it's 2nd quarter (ie still only available in Japan) = 0.91m
Vita after it's 3rd quarter = 0.8m

The thread title claim is wrong though, as after that 2nd quarter info the DC line is skewed by Western sales (it launched in America in the 4th quarter and the rest of the world in the 5th, but with only 2 points on the graph we can't tell what it sold in Japan after the 2nd quarter)

Maybe DC japan week to week sales outpassed Vita's. But that will reverse soon, it's obvious. This is the last graph I found on japanese sales - garaph is terrible with dreamcast numbers. It was during Vita's persona week (34 k). Dreamcast had a spike since then - probably holidays. Vita had a minor spike (white vita) only, so it's probably very close to DC number right now.

Yeah, that's correct... PSP numbers are raping Vita's.

DS numbers are (or will) only make sweet tender love to 3DS's

Vita will have more releases until the end of the year in the west than 3DS, it is far from dying.
