I'm about 6 hours in and I'm enjoying it a lot. I like the action style gameplay. The plot so far has been fairly predictable, but enjoyable. Voice acting took a little getting used to, but I've warmed up to it. All the characters are likeable in one way or another, unlike other JPRGs such as FF13 (in which the only likable characters in the first 10 hours was the comic relief.) The battle system is fun and full of action, but I wish you were able to have a little more control, and that the strategy element was a little more fleshed out. So far its been a solid 8.5 for me as well. Soundtrack of course is amazing (Uematsu never disappoints). If you like your RPGs with more action, this is definitely a game to try.

I agree with the desire for more strategy. Like when Dagran will consult with you pre-battle, i wish battle preparation involved drawing routes for characters, or assigning roles to guys (like telling Mirania to stick to Syrenne like glue to keep her healed, as an example)

Yes, this exactly.  I sometimes wonder how much something like this was left out due to design decisions, and how much due to technical ability.

Here's hoping for a sequel (in the vein of Final Fantasy sequels) with more strategy involved.  A WiiU exclusive with pad routing would be awesome.

you don't need to grind, but I enjoy doing it.

QFT, ftw!

Walked into a GameStop today and asked if they had it. A wonderful chap said they got it on friday and that one person cancelled their pre-order so I got the collector's edition. Went home and played for 3 and a half hours. I love it. It's predictable as hell but I fucking love it.

I've noticed inconsistent frame rate and some lag. But the game is just so awesome. I love the combat and the spells that you can get. I just love all of it so far. :)

Just got my copy, I have yet to play it since I'm overwhelmed with things I'm playing already. Pretty excited to give it a go though, going to rush through a few games to get them out of the way for this.

This is my view so far exactly. I found the game very predictable, but well made. I didn't think graphics this good and a battle system this advanced would be possible on the Wii. I'm only 3 hours in, and I hear the story picks up after about 7-8 hours being in, and I think this game kind of needs that. The story tellig is well done, but so far, not much has been happening.

My only gripe is the lip synching...it's just not there, the lips are completly off sync from the speech. Since the facial expressions are so well done in this game, nd characters often have close ups, it's kind of odd to see this problem.

All and all, I really love this game so far. The graphics and battle system are on par to Mass Effect, but the plot is a bit boring and predictable so far. That should change soon for me.

I was actually wondering the same thing. They have such a well designed pre-battle system set up, it feels like this would have been a natural step to take. Still it's a fun game, and unlike most RPG's I actually have to take advantage of all the new skills I learn.

What's Ganondorf doing in this game? With transgendered Kotake and Koume, no less.

XENOBLADE SPOILERS IN THESE SPOILERS

I'm glad they didn't let Callista get captured. Part of what was disconcerting about losing Fiora in Xenoblade was the bait-and-switch of having a character to explore and then not getting access to her again for about 45 hours or so, and i rather liked the little bit of her i saw before Zangurak took her, and so, in my own way, felt a sense of urgency about retrieving her, because i hoped the game wasn't going to make me have to work to get that back. Well played, Mistwalker.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I am still waiting for my copy, I should be getting it by next week so Ill post my impressions then.

Menx64

3DS code: 1289-8222-7215

NNid: Menx064

I got it technically, but my cousin is playing right now, but I just came back from his place of which we played a lot of the deathmatch multiplayer. It's damn fun surprisingly!

Aw damn, that spoiled The Last Story for me....well a bit. I saved at the point Callista got captured, would have gone on, but I was tired.

As for Fiora in XenoBlade, what bugged me was that in the bonus artwork with the pre-order, in the list of playable characters Fiora was there, and if she was only available at the start of the game, why would she be in that small list? XenoBlade was an amazing game, but just the way it was designed, I knew she was comming back....
