To be fair... Act Raiser 2 sucked.  They took out the part that set it apart.

Though I feel like it only sucked because Act Raiser 1 was so great.

I never even bothered with Act Raiser 2, actually. Did they take out the strategy aspect or something?

Illusion of Gaia was Enix, too, right? They were pretty rocking back then. (But were still no Squaresoft.)

Yeah, they took out the strategy aspect.

And yeah I think they were Enix...

How did I not see this thread earlier?

At the time SNES was released, developers had spent years perfecting 2D gaming and the SNES had so many of those perfect 2D games. Super Mario World alone made it worth buying a SNES. If it was the only game I had then I'd probably still be happy playing it today. Other than that... Final Fantasy IV-VI, Chrono Trigger, Street Fighter 2, Super Star Wars, Harvest Moon... all perfect 2D games.

I really did like Enix better then Square, despite how awesome the square RPGs were.

DQ, Ogre Battle series, EVO, everything they made seemed golden.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here! Enix were great back then but Squaresoft were gods!

Signature goes here!

I never owned a "SUPER NES". I asked for the "SEGA MASTER SYSTEM" its top rival at the time. I loved my "SEGA MASTER SYSTEM" games like Hang on, choplifter etc. "SUPER NES" was like xbox 360 and the "SEGA MASTER SYSTEM" was like playstation 3. I found the "SUPER NES" in my house more than I imagined. I would get teased at school and by my friends back then. They would say come on man play "SUPER NES" it's way better and for the most part it was. It was the most dominate console at that time like "ATARI" was when it came out. GOODTIMES!

For real. They ruled the SNES without even bothering to localize Final Fantasy V, Front Mission, or Bahamut Lagoon.

Why shouldn't I love it? I had the Megadrive, but never hated the SuperNes or its fans. I've played tons of its games on emulators or the Wii virtual console, and in some genres (RPG, metroidvania games) it has a huge and great catalog. And I love FZero.

You must be thinking of megadrive (genesis), not master system.  SMS was the NES's rival.

And Genesis couldn't even hope to hold a candle to the greatness that was SNES.
