So in conjuction with my other thread asking why many do not have a Vita, I would like to hone in on one of the answers "It needs more games".

Pick the type and genre that would most appeal to you on Sony's handheld or the one you simply feel they don't have enough invested in to attract gamers. Then discuss the specifics of the game types you are most interested in seeing.

That one that is code named "magic bullet" that everyone seems convinced will "save" the Vita...where's a chalkboard when you need one?

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

It needs Mario.

It needs a few great games from all genres, really. Maybe JRPGs, because at least we know that'll push it in Japan.

Any.

Vita has everything and needs everything. :) On a serious note, Vita is missing more support from Japanese developers. They need more support from SEGA, Capcom, SE, Konami, Namco...

They don't need to be platform exclusives, I would gladly "take" ports Wii, 3DS...

Just to name a few: Sonic Colors (would look awesome on Vita screen), Lords of Shadows Mirror of Fate (I feel cheated since I loved LOS on PS3 and will get LOS2 on PS3, so even though I'm on same "brand" I'm going to miss a part of the story :(), Resident Evil: Revelations (1st good RE)....

I also think that already published PSN titles and some PSP games are unused potential. If they would release Trine collection, DeathSpank collection I would definitely buy that. Even if SE would release HD ports/remakes of Crisis Core and Birth by Sleep I would buy that as well.

It does NOT need app games. People already have their smartphones for that. It needs exclusive, high quality content.

Personally, I'd prefer to have more shooters on the system. Battlefield, Metro, Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, Quake, etc.

Not sure if many potential buyers agree with me though.

RPGs IMO. The PSP carved out a niche market in the West and a mainstream one in Japan by attracting a lot of medium tier Japanese RPGs. In the last generation, the PSP's RPG library was second to only the DS, trailing it very closely.

However in the 8th gen so far, Sony seem to be losing some of that support; Atlus have been supporting the 3DS much better (EO4, SMT4, Soul Hackers and an announced Persona vs Persona 4 Golden) and Falcom have stated that they will be supporting the 3DS, in contrast to how they skipped the DS. Sony somehow need to reverse this trend. Given the fact that both Gust and NIS are both Sony orientated, if I were Sony I would get they to throw their weight behind the PSV and hopefully help inspire others to do so.

The PSP is still getting major releases in Japan.
The problem with Vita is that it can't play PSP games.
The problem with 3DS is that it can play DS games.
