ZombiU will allow you to paint symbols on the environment, leaving messages for other players.

The messages are only visible on the Game Pad in room-scanning mode, Polygon reports.

It’s up to the player how they combine the symbols to point out elements like threats or secrets – or perhaps even play mischievous pranks and ruin somebody else’s good times. Oh you kids.

It’s not yet clear how Ubisoft will determine which messages show up in your game, but it sounds similar to From Software’s efforts with Demon’s and Dark Souls, so presumably a solution is at hand. This kind of thing is called “asynchronous multiplayer” and it’s neat-o, amirite?

It sounds more than similar to Demon Souls. I'm starting to dislike this game. It reeks of unoriginality.

Errr, correct me if I'm wrong but, do you remember the Nintendo direct that Iwata did the day before E3?

There was this parody video of a gamer guy trying to beat a game about zombies and, after dying again in a certain part of the game he used the pad to scan the TV, finding a message left by someone else who ended up being an old man with whom the gamer guy had a video chat.

What I'm trying to say is, didn't we already know this?

Yes, we just didn't know how much of that was just pure concept, and how much would be implemented.

Hell, we still don't, to a point. Nintendo hasn't been very forthcoming. Yet.
