Forums - Gaming Discussion - Destruictoid: Black Ops II reinvents the multiplayer experience

I think these are awesome changes.

First "the pick 10", that they increase choice, that you will be able to unlock stuff more freely, which also brings more varied soldiers on the battlefield.

And second, that they replace kill-streaks with score-streaks, which will hopefully improve team play immensly.

But, sadly for me personally COD is not my military shooter of choice. It's too fast and twitch based, especially when you play on console. Its weird to constantly witness that none of your kills and deaths seem to actually take place in real time due to the huge server lag, connection lag and console input lag
(I know that the server calculations are taking place more or less in real time, but I as a player am witnessing every moment with lag and even some moments that actually never happened because the server already counted me as dead before I shot those last bullets).

I hate that nagging feeling of being treated unfairly by the server whenever I get killed and the constant question of "would I have had shot first had my internet been faster?"

With slower games the online lag components aren't as apparent. So on consoles I think it's much more satisfying with a slower shooter like Battlefield.

AMAZING NEWS FOR THE FRANCHISE WITH THE MOST FUNNY MP EVER!!!

in your opinion

And more 20 million gamers in the world.

I fail to see anything reinvented, reused sure, not reinvented though.

That all sounded like great news and I hope you all have fun flying those mini fake helicopters remotely while I sit in the driver's seat of my Viper attack helicopter in battlefield 3 and unload missiles into the faces of my enemies.

Har har, I kidd. I like the 10 point system, but I am curious what boundaries it has. Clearly you can't go running around with 5 different guns, right? Still though it sounds like it's really opening up the options. I like the score system better than the kill streaks, although I probably would have preferred they made it so you lose a certain amount of points every time you die, not ALL of your points. Then again, it's not for me to worry about.

Black Ops 2 looks promising, It's such a drastic change of setting and with many overhauled elements of multiplayer and larger emphasis on zombies it may just be the best CoD since CoD4.

Hey, I think it looks great. I'm glad they are re-doing the way COD multiplayer is layed out. At least they dare to make the risky changes.

I must admit though Im more excited about the supposed very ambitious and expansive work they have put into the Zombies Survival mode. :)

I wish I could adopt this attitude but I find COD too damn addictive, but MW3 only lasted me 3 weeks.

Blops 2 looks good but it really isn't doing anything radical. Just more futuristic (potentially annoying) equipment thats all. Now Halo 4, that really is changing the formula, vastly advanced over previous games.

I do have to agree with the point that Halo 4 does look like an epic game if I may say so :) Some people think that since halo 4 is releasing so close to Black Ops 2 that it will hurt its sales, but I disagree. I think it will just make game sales have monstrous increases for those couple of weeks.

I told myself I wouldn't buy MW3, but then January came along, and the Kill Confirmed, Drop Zone, and Infected modes kept calling me, and I gave in.

I told myself I definitely wouldn't get Black Ops II, but they just have to make it so enticing!!
I MUST RESIST!!!

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

looks really good.
