GOOG will get more youtube viewers, and this will help them with their crazy over-reaching goals of trying to get youtube to be a cable alternative

Sony will have more things to do for the PS3 increasing its value a little bit.

Haven't observed any loading issues, just lag in the menus, especially the search. Videos seem to play very well and buffer fast. They just need to send out some stability upadates to fix the issues.

why would I want to get this,when I can just watch youtube on my pc/phone. You can even,watch youtube on the ps3 web browser,so what's the point of the app?

Finally Sony start with some apps.

I hope PS4 gets an awesome browser, so there won't have to be any of this App BS next gen. Well, they can keep the video service ones, like Netflix, cause that makes it really easy.

This app plays the videos in HD while the web browser does not. If you have a decent sized HD tv it would beat out watching them on your PC or phone. An interesting idea would be to search one of your favorite bands and play a video, this app autoplays the next video so it would kind of be like a music video channel.
