People feared the ps3 would be discontinued, look how well it turned out. Have a little faith. |
i get what your are saying but the ps3 contributed to billions in losses and sony is in really bad financial shape. sony has been a great company to me for sure. but if they don't start making some financial profit from that it won't matter.

I've made provisions to become a PC gamer...so far not bad, come to the steamy side, we have (computer) chips.

as long as WoW still exists i'm too terrified to rebuild a PC. that game nearly destroyed me.
Port forwarding routers to host games on the internet is such a pain in the ass.
I LOVE ICELAND!

For my part, the lack of any sort of unified friends' system, on Wii (which they've fixed well enough with 3DS), along with the abandonment of Virtual Console after early 2010 or so.
Nintendo just seems to have a lack of energy sometimes, something that really seemed to surface in this generation. The secrecy i get, but often they just seem to neglect the finer points or little treats or such. They always seem to go the extra mile making software, but much less so with their devices themselves, especially moving into the age of a platform-holder being a service provider.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
PC is preferred atm until the consoles release some exclusives again.
- Windows 7 patches, how many times does it need to be patched, really.
- Long time to start up. Sure the desktop appears fast but before it actually becomes responsive...
- Log in to Steam, log in to ubi / ea / whatever account, enable gamepad driver, a lot of extra steps.
- Getting certain games to run correctly can take a lot of effort.
- Random slowdown in places depending on what your gpu struggles with, badly optimized code.
- The odd crash to desktop or lockup now and then, still more frequent then on consoles (although they're catching up, hurray?)
- A lot of games crash when I switch inputs momentarily. Win 7 forces games to go into some ungodly weird resolution when it loses the HDMI link for a moment. (Alt-tab first usually prevents it, but I still forget sometimes)
- Some games make we rather want to stick a needle in my eye instead of getting an online server to work (eg Terraria)
- My HDD is getting full and I have a bandwidth cap. To delete digital downloads or not to delete them. It was an easier decision with boxed products. A lot faster to re-install too.
3DS
- slow web browser
- No Metroid and no Zelda
Wii
- 3rd party devs
in no order ps3
controller is weak, old design, and feels cheap flexy noisy ect.
no full game installs... oh wait mgs4 just got patched but took 4 yrs
no custom soundtracks and trophys for all games
xmb has issues slow, trophys need syncing, not alot of customizing
multi plats are inferior and sometimes unacceptable to those on the MS platform
losing its touch only 1 GT, FF and metal gear game so far? wheres the TLG? no more 3rd party exclusive like gta RE and many more
needs more mainstream mature themed exclusive games to cater to its fans from 1996 all i can think of is MGS4 GOW and Heavy Rain, genres that not everyone is into. we not game characters we age, even if you were 7 yrs old at the time ps was out your in your 20s now
360
lacks diverse exclusives
should have a free online to play option
gota have reliable HW from the start

that's the reason i sold my PS3 and got an X360 instead. my favorite thing to do is play games while listening to music.
