This is completely the opposite of what vgchartz says, which is that WII60 is outselling ps3 by a huge number.

Nintendo just said that they had sold 300k Wii LTD at the end of 2007. How the hell is the PS3 catching the Wii in a few weeks when they might have 200k PS3 LTD in February 2008 when they had 175k at the end of 2007? At that rate of sales it would still take 8 months if the Wii stopped selling completely.

Hold on -- 200k units sold IN February (which would make them the market leader) or 200k units sold BY Februrary? Big difference.

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

Erm.. the line graph (the one you linked to) indicates that, like in many other places, ps3 is last and the wii will soon overtake the xbox 360.
