Forums - Nintendo - Capcom: “Some good stuff is coming” for Wii U

by Sal Romano [@salromano] at 12:50 PM EDT, August 6, 2012 .

Wii U’s seen strong third-party support from Ubisoft, and decent support from publishers such as Electronic Arts, Warner. Bros, and THQ. But what about Capcom? When 3DS was first launched, Capcom came at the handheld with full force, with releases such as Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, and the later released Resident Evil: Revelations. But we haven’t seen anything from the publisher regarding Wii U yet.

Asked about whether or not they’re planning support for the high-def Nintendo console on the Capcom Unity forums, Capcom’s Christian Svensson responded: “Some good stuff is coming and I’d love to tell you more… but for now, I have to keep it a surprise. Sorry.”

Looks like we’ll have to play the waiting game.

Thanks, Nintendo Everything.

Here is hoping that it is not some more ports of old PS3 and 360 games.

That's what I used to tell my girlfriend. She fell for it, too.

Capcom should release a great exclusive like they did on the 3DS
hopefully a new IP

Hmmm... I'll believe it when I see it. But I'm hopeful.

We're three months from launch and we still know next to nothing about Japanese 3rd party Wii U games. This is starting to get ridiculous. @_@

Although we are due for a Nintendo Direct this month, and many have been hinting at a Wii U blowout in September. We'll know soon enough I suppose.

Well, the words around the net is that a lot is being blocked by NDA which is reasonable considering the speed at which the other two companies mimic Nintendo's games and ideas. Even Nintendo couldn't deny that when asked.

All of the first games on Move and Kinect were pretty much lifted and pasted from the Wii's library with no more than a single word changed in the title(not even getting into move and Kinect themselves).  It was like Nintendo made corn flakes, Sony made maize flakes and Microsoft made popcorn breakfast.  I have a feeling that we going to see a lot of game similiar to the Wii U's most succesful on smart glass.

A Wii U blowout is pretty mandatory at this point. There's no real hype at all. I hope you're right Smeags.

Didn't we learn about a 3rd party conference Nintendo is planning some time ago? At this point it is rather obvious Nintendo is telling third parties to keep their mouths shut about upcoming games. I wonder why? Are there some exclusive titles in the pipeline? Is Nintendo planing to cooperate big times with some developers? I hope they don't make a lot of fuss about multiplatform titles.

*puts on guessing hat*

Resident Evil 5: Wii U edition & Megaman Racing

Coming from Capcom we can expect RE6 as well as some late ports of some of their fighting games, but I would like to see a new Zack&Wiki, just to see what can they do with the controller.

I suppose we'll have to wait until the Tokyo Game Show to know more.

Please excuse my bad English.
