The Pats are the best team in the AFC and NFL now and should win the rest of their regular season games.

We'll see about that next week when they face the 49ers...

After twice losing to the Rams (a tie to the Rams is indeed a loss), and not exactly dominating the Dolphins, I have to wonder...

Certainly didn't feel like a victory from this side.

smashed-new england did a good job there,i caught most of it

i did want to ask a question at the end of the third quarter when NE are 28-0 up there was a minute to go and they were in the houston end,why did they not take a field goal and get an easy 3 points, they just run the clock down when brady made that run,is there a reason,to me it just seems you may aswell take the points,is about possession for next quarter or what, being english i get confused with all the ins and outs of nfl

I haven't watched the game, but looking at the play by play it reads "3rd&5" for this particular instance, not 4th down like your post suggested. Nobody goes for a field goal attempt on 3rd down, unless the circumstances are special (i.e. only three seconds left before the end of the half or the end of the game).

Also, 33 yard line translates to a 50 yard field goal and that's a distance that's not really "an easy 3 points".

right mendicate says they keep possession for next quarter and i understand what you are saying rol but if they wanted to get in field goal postion i'm sure they could have which is what i though teams might do to rack up to 31 - 0 but if the game just flips no need,i had to go to sleep at the end of the third,it was getting late, its funny i have watched quite a few games over the years but just never notice/learn these things

The trolling of the Bears in this thread is at an unacceptable level. I can't wait until the Packers get thrashed by the Giants again in the playoffs.

The Patriots are a horrible mathcup for the 49ers. The 49ers rely on keeping the score low. The second that team falls behind by two touchdowns the game is pretty much over.

Yeah, just like the high powered offenses of the Packers and the Saints were horrible matchups for the 49ers as well...

The Rams always play the 49ers tough. They're division rivals and no matter what their record is they play well against the 49ers and put up a good fight.

Firstly, the score at that point in the game was 28-7. Secondly, Brady's run led to a new first down and eventually a touchdown on the same drive, bringing the score up to 35-7. Thirdly, you being sleepy explains why you even asked something as odd as this, because under the given circumstances the Patriots did everything right without a doubt.

EDIT: Looking ahead to Week 16, there won't be a Monday Night game, so I'll pick a game that serves as our tie-breaker. It's going to be either SF-SEA (definitely if SF loses and SEA wins in Week 15; winner of this game takes the NFC West title) or CIN-PIT (battle for the AFC's sixth seed).

Tom Brady seems keen on beating SF, and being seattle fan, I am all for it! Seattle just has to stay consistent, and don't look ahead.

Picking the Bengles for Thursday. I wouldn't mind if they lose of course.

Baltimore fired their offensive coordinator and hired a brand new guy who is yet to call a play in the NFL. Harbaugh most feel the ravens are sliding too much.
