No it dosnt, Vita success will not be dependent on how it does compared to the DS like most people on this stie think. Vita needs a good game here and there, to pick up sales and keep them moving foraward. What vita needs to do is lose sony as little money as possible. Over time it will reach the Sweet spot where everyone will want one. Till then they just need to ride it out.

Realistically we're going to see a Final Fantasy spinoff on the PSV (like Crisis Core), something new from Square Enix (like Jeanne d'arc) and a few PS2 ports (like Star Ocean 3, Rogue Galaxy, and ICO), but not as many as before.

PSV is going to need to acuire new JRPG's to do moderatly well.


just thinking out loud, if FF X is getting a port for the vita that can open the door for many other PS2 games to come to the vita as well, many people are waiting for PS1 support to be enabled on the PSV. so the demand for PS2 games might be just as high(just give an old game trophies and they'll jump through hoops) As for xenosaga, they don't need the studio to do the re-master and I don't think it would be too much of a hassle toget a port to the vita since the game was already on a Sony system.

Actually since Monolith Studios own the rights to XenoSaga, and Nintendo own Monolith Studios......it would be had to have a PSV port.

Still, I just don't think the are as many PS2 games which need to be ported.

It seems like an HD release, but there has been rumors and confusion over how remastered they are going to make it. This is rather easy to do with PS2 titles but PS1 titles can't just be upscaled and would require an amount of work similar to making a new game. I'd bet a FF XII HD comes out long before we see any remake of a PS1 FF.



Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

It's not a remake, it's an HD port.

Final Fantasy V remake should already be in the oven, hopefully

PS Vita will sell in US and a little in EU but won't sell at all in Japan. So yeah Vita still gonna flop.

Oh, this is true. PS1 games were originally made in the 3:4 aspect ratio while PS2 games had the options for widescreen and surround sound.

Good point, but at this point, I just don't think they will make a FFVII remake/port anytime soon.

Their songs do seem to blend together because of the beat...regurgitate is a little harsh though.

psp did the exact opposite and sold more than 70 million units
