Someone should make some charts comparing Xbox vs PS2, Xbox + Gamecube vs PS2, Xbox360 vs PS3, Xbox360 + Will vs PS3 to understand just how much things have changed this generation and why a thread like this would have been considered laughable last generation. Not only that but the PS3 still requires PS2 numbers added to it to even make it over 1 million.

Many people believe PS2 to have sold around 1-1.1m, that still leaves PS3 selling as much as Wii60. Not only that, but that also leaves PS2, a 12 year old console selling as much as the 360.

How does any of that change what I've said?  Without the PS2 numbers the PS3 victory is even smaller which is what my last sentence was getting at.  As for the PS2 it's great that it's still selling that much, it's just too bad that Sony no longer gets third party licensing fees, etc, and that they're probably selling mainly to third world countries where Sony makes almost nothing off them.  Also I doubt the average selling price of those PS2s matches the 360s (people used to make a big deal out of the PS3 being more expensive than 360 so I'm just throwing that out there).

I know what you're getting at: "Sony fall with the PS3, they dont sell that muh more than they used to with PS2 heydays and so on", right? That is getting boring and has been for years.

Yeah, this thread isn't fun anymore.

My Console Library:

PS5, Switch, XSX

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360

3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

One thing apparent from the last few arguments is that when numbers favour Sony, people drag in the loss of 3rd party exclusives or profit, though it is about sales, not profit or something else.

Considering the discussions we have in this thread, it is pretty clear that Sony will always be hated by some, when they sell lesser than their competition and when they sell more than them combined.

Same thing goes for MS and Nintendo, so not sure why you are acting like Sony is being vicitimised.

Not as much as Sony though, it seems Sony threads always has the most commotion and emotional breakdowns.

Why do they do that? I think because they see Ken Kutaragi in my sig and feel somewhat challenged.
