-The Nintendo Wii will get more 'raw power' very soon... She doesn't give specifics!

What the hell is that about? Most likely it refers to a new ad campaign or something retarded. Maybe production increase, but I am calling bogus right now.

With things like that I am not sure I should even pay attention to the rest.

for months people have been clueless how nintendo plans to follow through on the whole WiiWare thing since the Wii has only ~0.5 gigs of memory.  I wouldn't be surprised if this "raw power" had something to do WiiWare.  I'm clueless as to what the hell nintendo has planned but they just have to have something up their sleeves if they are going to make this work - their is just no way that FF:CC: Little King is less than 0.5gigs, it just can't be.

it could be a 2 hour game

realistically they are probably going to offer a HDD soon.

@ being a 2 hour game - i guess but isn't a majority of the of the file size made up of the library of textures and such.  I'm no computer programmer but that was my impression

@ a HDD - I'm going to disagree for the simple fact that providing and HDD would be the obvious solution and i just feel like nintendo will have a more "innovative" solution.  An HDD is probably the best solution but seems to be outside of their userfriendly approachable mindset for the wii, imo.

The fact that they are keeping so tight lipped about WiiWare even though it is supposed to be released in just a few months makes me believe it is something they want to keep hidden from sony/ms like when they waited to the absolute last possible minute to reveal the wiimote.

the 2 hour game thing was sarcasm.. id never imagine a game from Square being less the 20 hours. lol

As for the HDD comment. You have a point but i dont see how they could solve this problem any other way.

Im more in for a remake of FFVI rather then FFVII. We've seen FFVII in 3D repeatedly in many versions.

How about the FFVI version this time? That would be more refreshing and wise.

It's actually 0.05gigs not 0.5gigs.

I too have no idea how that fully 3D game is under 50meg.

The Wii includes 512MB of internal memory for storing saved games, downloaded Virtual Console titles, and other data. If that half-gigabyte of onboard storage isn't enough for you, the system has a standard Secure Digital card slot for additional storage. SD cards are cheap and plentiful, and the Wii's support of them is a refreshing change of pace from the proprietary memory cards used by older game consoles.

When i said 0.5 gigs this is what i was referring to, am i looking at the wrong spec?

Haha, no really it isn't. 512MB = 0,5 gigs. 50 megs = 50MB, and that's about as big as Resident Evil 2 on N64 if I remember correctly.

ArtOfAngels is talking about FFCC. It's known that WiiWare games have a 50Mb limit.

Turrican was created by Factor 5 for the Commodore Amiga originally some 19 years ago .Nobody has the rights besides them .

Disney doesnt have any right to decide were KH goes .If they dont like it they can of course not sign to license its charachters and worlds and the game cant be done (either that or Square searchs for another cartoon company to sign )but the same goes to the other end .If Square doesnt want the game cant go another place .And Square -Enix develops the game so I would definitely say Square has the upper hand here .Disney may like better somethin and put
some pression some way ,but after they say what they want is either they take what offered or leave with nothing in the hands .A KH III for Wii would be too similar to the PS2 games for Square to be very happy .They want to sell more than anything but its pretty sure the game could sell some millions on PS3 specially if released say 2009 ,with the Wii it would be a bet .I think it would pay off as the casual gamers of the Wii would be attracted by the Disney charachters just as the PS owners were attracted by the FF charachters .But will Square take that risk specially to launch some minor game not definitely leaps beyond KH2 ?It depends ,if third party wii software keeps bombing the wiser would be going the safe route to the PS3 .Or launch two games as the DS/PSP offerings .

Did you even bother do the slightest of research before you typed that first line.

Thornado
We've updated our Thornado preview with our behind-closed-doors impressions from Space World.

October 13, 2000 - Factor 5, the company behind Star Wars: Rogue Squadron (N64), has begun development on Thornado, a 3D shooter much in the vein of Metroid and Contra -- and it's on its way to Nintendo's next-generation console: Gamecube.

Thornado is reportedly a super-fast shooting game that combines 3D action with a little bit of exploration as you defend Earth from an invading alien force. The game will feature two selectable characters, a man and a woman, and futuristic polygon environments that range from Earth to outer space. While Factor 5 isn't releasing any details, we do know that the game's title refers to the player's ability to use wind-based weapons that can literally blow enemies and obstacles out of the way. Factor 5 opted to change the name after it was unable to reach an agreement with Rainbow Arts/Soft Gold, the European publisher that still owns the rights to the Turrican (Amiga/SNES) name....
