"11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

11:4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

11:5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

11:6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them."

    (King James Bible, Revelation)

Who are the two witnesses?

One possible answer: Mohammad and his son-in-law and chosen successor Ali (yes that would be why Mohammad-Ali chose those two names for his name to replace Cassius Clay, and yes that would mean the Shiite view of Islam accords with Biblical prophecy). 1260 days = 1260 years (ref the Book of Numbers). In the Islamic calendar the year 1260 correspondes to 1844 AD, a year in which lots of Christian theologians at the time thought would be the Return of Christ, due to various other corroborating Bible prophecies.

CATHOLICISM is mostly pagan gods renamed as saints and the sun plays a major part over the heads of the saints.
As for the program you saw "Zeitgeist" that's probably as non-factual as the bible.

The halo is not a sun.  The halo represents the glory of God manifesting out of a person. ......

The Catholic church was particularly noted for doing this, so art style and so on was borrowed, as were holidays.  The Catholic Church, for convenience, took the Pagan holidays and redefined them, and kept the dates.  Date of Jesus's birth being celebrated was put on December 25th, because that is what the culture did.  You just change the meaning.

You can see similar about Valentine's Day, where the date was kept, but the meaning was changed.

I believe the halo to be thse sun for exactly the same reason you pointed out in the second bolded sentence.

Have a good look at Catholic comissioned paintings of old where the halo is obviously represented by the sun. Sun worshippers placing the sun on the head of their saints is no mere coincidence. In some ways it can be assumed that it is hidden form of sun worship. Not only did they keep the holidays, they kept the gods and renamed them.

The Jupiter statue become St. Peter etc.,

Regardless it comes down to what you choose to believe. You choose to believe the halo is not the sun and I choose to believe it is.

I am not being disrespectful towards your argument, you presented it well. I just don't agree with it.

As. Said in the other thread.

What happened to dinosaurs and unicorns. I went into better detail there.

Jurassic Park teaches you more about dinosaurs than the Bible.

And in life, I am fairly sure there are a number of people who know a lot about dinosaurs, but have very poor lives, and aren't useful to people in much other areas.

OK...? Not really sure what this post is getting at.

It was created before this one, for that exact reason, to discuss bible verses. This one exists because richard needed a more easy-going and less stringent thread. So yes please go there with this question, thanks.

So what?

There may be people who know about dinosaurs AND can help people in other areas. Don't be silly.

Knowledge of dinos has nothing to do with ethics, morals, intentions of people, and other motivations that have to do with making things better.  The Bible focuses on this area, as opposed to Jurassic Park which doesn't teach anything on the subject, outside of don't muck around with things you can't control, or presume you can.  Pretty much the stuff pertaining to "life and Godliness", which is what a Bible verse speaks about the Bible itself, and other things connected to the Christian faith.

As I thought, nothing that had to do with APM's initial post: " Jurassic Park teaches you more about dinosaurs than the Bible. ", which was actually true.

I would like to know about trinity and whether Jesus, God and the holy spirit all are God themselves.

I am pretty sure that Christians believe they are all the same.  That being said it doesn't seem that impressive to send your only son to Earth when it was really just you to be crucified.  So if they are all the same then Jesus should have known he was going to die and be resurrected.

I know their belief. I just wanted to know about how Bible say anything about it. On the other hand how does it sound that a son is the Father himself, or 3 persons are one person.
