Final Fantasy 13 and other large games on one disc. I'm too lazy for this disc-swapping nonsense.

I'm a gamer, so I have a xbox 360 and ps3... 360 is my primary though as almost every multiplatform game is better on 360, plus party chat, and a better controller..

PS3 I really love fat princess and PSN+ is the best $50 you can spend a year., stranglely most the exclusive games people talk about for ps3 suck, like uncharted it's not good its just boring. but then PSN will have fat princess, which is probably top 5 downloadable titles ever.

Anyone missing out on xbox, i feel sorry for them though. the superior controller and online service almost makes up for the price and lack of exclusives.. when you think about gaming this gen though almost all the good titles were better on 360 or only on 360.

after this gen, I think sony will take the gaming crown though, if you imagine a race, MS started off full speed and slowly ran out of steam to where we are not and Sony is the opposite. but at this point it is too late for them to catch up, if next gen PS has part chat, better exclusives, and a more stable online then hands down they will beat MS assuming MS doesn't pull something out of their hats.

I've thought about buying a 360 (not switching :P) many, many times because of two reasons: a) A few of my friends are there, b) Halo.

There's a couple of other minor things I'd buy if I had a 360 as well - Viva Pinata & Project Gotham Racing are the two that spring to mind, although I noticed a PC port of Viva Pinata on amazon the other day.

But anyway, I'm digressing from the question. I would have no problem buying a 360, and probably will one day once the price is right. But to make me "switch" completely away from PS3?

There would have to be a bigger variety in games. I want platformers (both 2D and 3D), kart racers, arcadey-racers, hack 'n' slashers, JRPG's etc. Both systems offer me multi-plats, so they'd have to offer me something better on top of that.

I actually - all fanboyism aside - think Microsoft did a pretty good job of offering different experiences at the start of the generation. Lost Odyssey for a JRPG, Banjo Kazooie for a 'platformer', PGR for an arcadey racer etc. But that support seems to have completely dried up in favour of yearly sequels to established franchises.

If they returned to their older model of provision, I'd definitely be more interested in owning a 360.

Here are my requirements:

- Blue-Ray

- Price below $300

- Free online

- More or equal amount of high quality first party titles

- An 'appear offline' option

Unfortunately, as you can see, the PS3 does not fulfill all requirements.

If MS implemented a free online option for their consoles, I would highly consider getting one. This is not to say they should get rid of Gold premium service.

As my main gaming is from PC atm, I will list all them.

X360- free online, Full BC, more exclusives,

PS3- More friends, less mandatory HDD installs

Wii- More gamecube like games, more multis

If the PS3 had those things than I'd use it a lot more.

It's a list of 'what it would take for me to switch to the opposing console', which would be the PS3.

By not logging in to PSN you wouldn't be able to play online games though, and just the pure thought of appearing online when a talkative douchebag comes online freaks the living fuck out of me.
