Ok than

Entry to EU is not worth it. And Milosevic was more capable than most of serbian politicians today

One wonders if there will be an EU left to enter soon enough anyway, but when you say "capable," what exactly do you mean?

I am not surprised they elected the socialist party again.

Milosevic was a cancer that started the breakup of Yugoslavia and all that followed but he did not sell any national assets to foreign interestes. Only after he was ousted and his government fell did the fire sale start by shotsighted and narrow minded politicians.

Now anything that was worth anything in the entire Yugoslavia is owned by a foreign investments. There are highways that are German owned, gas pipeline is Russian, car industry is Italian, French bought most of the minig resources and factories... All Serb ian people can do is work for minimum wage dictated by foreign companies.

Same problem is found in Croatia. German firms and Russians bought up the entire coast pretty much. All Croats can do is sell fruits and vegetables to the tourists and work in foreign owned hotels.

I'm not surprised.

Just about every Serbian i've met was pretty anti-nato/EU and super pissed about Kosovo. I think the UN bid was based a lot more on politician choice then it was the will of the people.

Which isn't that different from a few EU nations.

As for closing the doors on the darker parts of their countries histories without acknowledging it...

it's no big surprise.

The Japanese don't recognize the rape of Nanking.

The Turks haven't ever accepted the Armenian Genocide.

The US didn't apolgogize to Native Americans or for slavery until 2009.

I believe many nations in the EU have never apologized for the slave trade.

How is Kosovo War a ''dark part'' of history ?

It wasn't the kosovo war that was the dark part of history.  It was the ethnic cleasing before it, which is why the war occured and Kosovo was made independent with help of NATO.

Which I'm sure you know, and probably just deny having ever existed in the first place.

how dare you accuse serbs of cleansing people from kosovo last time i checked the population of serbs shrunk in kosovo and remaning 200,000 people got kiced out of their homes to the northen borders of kosovo living in huts and shitty conditions not to mention they have endured the worst ethnic cleanig in hostory of mankind do some research on the great serbian people and then talk stop spreding your brainwashed nonsesne

This is how Serbs see it. Croats see it differently, Slovenians differently... Hence why there was war and now everyone is pointing fingers. Unfortunately for Serbs, they had the biggest gun at the time and did the most damage, hence they get most of the blame.

All of former Yugoslavs that still have any ideas for an ethnicly pure country should live in a different mutli-ethinc country like Australia for a year, and see how different cultures that have absolutely nothing i common live, work and prosper together.

Only then they'd realize how retarded they all are for killing each other.

If you quote someone at least quote the right sentence. He said "Moj posao je završen - Jugoslavije više nema". Which in his context meant my job is over - Yugoslavia is no more. He never meant that he broke Yugoslavia, he simply said that he can't do the job he was selected to do since there isn't Yugoslavia any more.

The only people that have issues with Mesić are the nationalists in both countries. And with that being said he was still ellected for 2 terms to represent the country.

They didn't have the biggest gun, they simply had THE GUN. They controlled the federal army. The only thing that other countries had to defend themselves were poorly equipped police forces.

Funny thing about the "Yugoslavs" that want a "pure country" is that (as far as Croatia goes) live mostly outside of Croatia, in Canada, USA, Australia, NZ, Chille, Argentina... They are the ones that are srewing our elections for 20 years with voting over and over again for nationalists.

Yeah they had most of the Yugoslav federal army...which kind of made sense as they werent' the ones leaving Yugoslavia. There was a lot of weapons smuggling in that country over that decade. There is lots of evidence of Serb generals selling weapons to Albanians in Kosovo, Croats smuggling weapons from Hungary, Middle east funding weapon drops for Bosnians...etc. It wasn't all as one sided as everyone thinks, but yeah Serbs had the hammer of dawn. :)

As far as those Croat old timers in foreign countries, they probably had to flee in the 70s when Tito cracked down on Croat nationalism the first time, hence why they still are stuck on the old ways.

In Milosevic's Serbia and the way he lead politics, non-Serbs would have eventually become second class Yugoslav citizens.

I myself am a Hungarian from Vojvodina and in the late 80s it became much harder for my parents who are university educated to prosper at work in Yugoslavia...and a lot of it was due to nationality.

For example in 1989, my dad was let go for absolutely no reason at a major state run company (Naftagas) and replaced by a guy from who was brought in from Montenegro with no experience what so ever. Those Montenegro people sure like to be in charge lol...

In any case, Serbian politicians started playing these nationalistic games first ("Niko vas ne sme da bije") and we see where that lead to.
