Forums - Nintendo - Metroid prime trilogy

Whatever you have to pay for this game (within reason), it's worth it... just for the masterpiece that is Prime 1 (which is the best by far) in widescreen and with exquisite pointer controls.

Now, I can understand preferring one control type over another, but I've heard idiots on forums (nobody on this site) say things like, "Pointer controls aren't good for shooters because holding out your arm gets tiring, blah, blah, blah..." To these people I ask, "Why in the hell are you doing that!?" Rest your arm comfortably to where your steadied wrist movement with the pointer covers the entire screen and sit back and enjoy the single best use of the Wii remote ever, with incredible accuracy.

Agreed,

I use to ask a similar question about n64 controller when people said  the control stick sucks. "Why are you using your thumb and index finger to move the controller?"

Index finger is for the trigger below haha. THey they went ooooh and once they learned how to use it correctly they loved the stick.

I loves the controls on medal of honour heroes 2, I likes the lean feature with the nunchuk, and scoping in and out with the wiimote with the sniper rifle, yeah prefer wiimote and nunchuk for fps than standard controls

I'll prob end up splashing the cash for the trilogy but not until next pay day, hope its worth it

In a lot of ways the Prime games felt like Zelda. There is a lot of exploration and puzzle solving mixed with small bursts of action scenes. The combat isn't particularly deep but it really doesn't need to be. So if you like the 3D Zelda games, you'll like the Prime games. The difference is the design of the environment is much, MUCH better in the Prime games, which really adds a new sense of atmosphere that Zelda doesn't have.

There were a lot of "Where do I go, what do I do, OH SHIT I'M LOST" moments in the Prime games for me, (I wound up using guides for most of them-I know but I suck at exploration games) but they are still very good, and I'd recommend them, even if you have to pay a lot for them. The motion controls work fine, but if you want to save some cash, the gamecube controls work well too.

Babble babble bitch bitch rebel rebel party party sex sex sex and don't forget the violence. Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad and lonely stick your stupid slogan in. Everybody sing along.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is seriously one of the best games I've played, and I haven't even played Corruption yet

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

Obly MP1 and MP2 are worth it imo, 3 really doesnt hold well.

I've always found 2 to be the weakest. It had the same problem of macro-world design as MP3 (that is, that everything was really discrete, and didn't flow together as in Prime 1), but had the reprehensible ammo system to bog it down.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I 100% agree.  Also, the dark world dynamic in MP2 felt like a chore to me.

Dark world in Zelda ALttP = ingenious.  Dark world in Prime 2 = tedious.

Imo Metroid Prime 2 is better than the 1st
far more complex and challenging

Complex and challenge do not equal better. Its only be when those things make the game more fun. More often than not, they make the game tedious and annoying.
