Average 3DS score : 79

Average PSVITA score: 83.4

There will be one more game launching for the Vita which will fall in the launch window which is sound shapes - I think this will feature in the above list so score might change

Interesting huh

It does show that Vita has had a stronger launch window. The real difference lies in the future, where this holiday season will be make-or-break for the platform's inertia, similar to the 3DS with its first holiday (worldwide, at least)

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Highest rated game ever and highest rated remake ever :)

I think everybody in their right mind agrees that the PS Vitas launch line up was way better than the 3DS's but the 3DS had no competitor so it got away with it. Vitas launch line up was good but the follow up was and is extremely poor. Two retail games in the next 3 months in europe.

About Metacritic scores, I have stopped to care about them since I own the 3DS since it feels like there is a certain hate towards the device from certain sites that are supposed to be neutral. Lately there are always some hipster websites that need to fall out of line in a really obvious way. Look at Kingdom hearts. The reviews gravitate around a solid 80 and then there is this one hate bomb dropping a 40. Same with Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus and Destructoid. I can tell you that NSMB2 will struggle to stay at 80%.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

Let's not do this? Comparing most 3DS and Vita games would be like apples to salmon...

I mean, how would you go about comparing Ocarina of Time to Gravity Rush, or Kid Icarus: Uprising to Uncharted? Completely different games. Metascores are practically useless in this case. You can get a general idea of the trends of games, but as 3DS has been out much longer than the Vita, it has a much larger library of games, skewing things rather unfairly one way or the other depending on what you're looking at.

If you want to talk about JUST launch games, the Vita obviously had the superior line-up, but then I don't know why you have Gravity Rush and Ocarina up there. I don't think they can be considered launch window.

The good and bad thing about metacritic is the "neutal" sites giving bad scores, all three companies have these (Gravity rush countering your Kingdom Hearts) so it kind of evens out

and as for the two retail games for the next three months?

2. Madden NFL 13
3. Ragnarok Odyssey
4. FIFA Soccer 13
5. Silent Hill: Book of Memories
7. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz
8. Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
9. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
10. Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
11. Persona 4: Golden
12. LEGO The Lord of the Rings
13. Need for Speed Most Wanted (Criterion)

(ignore the numbering)

out of those 3,9,10 and 11 will move some units so it's not too bleak as people make out.

This. Also, knowing this Sony should have learned from 3DS lackluster lineup. They should have known a second analog was not enough to sell the system, nor is the cross-platform play (well, this may remain yet to be seen). It also did not help that Nintendo cut 3DS' price, and unlike Nintendo, unfortunately, with Vita's R&D along with proprietary Memory Card Sony could not easily adjust to the system's current predicament. It's a shame actually. Vita deserves more attention that it does now. I expect Sony to unleash a great amount of information before or once Wii U release as a counter.

EDIT: I apologize. I meant 'not'

^That's really true... never ever bring game quality to the ring.
Everything you think sucks is probably loved by some other person.

Well, at least that's what I think on how people should behave on gaming forums.

Well then your a little bit slow, read the original post and you might realise why I have done the first 6 months (hint we are coming up to 6 months of Vita and it is being unfairly tagged with a lack of games)

And I think we should do this, every new thread is negative to the Vita let's praise it in one area that it should, games on a games console.

It is. The Vita had a better launch lineup than the 3DS definitely.
