We still get a medal; great. But Ukraine? That would have meant millions for them, but Japan wanted it for honour. Poor result.

You said it guys. But, let's not forget, it's a medal. No-one would have guessed or even considered we'd reach the final, let alone bag a medal!

So look on the bright side. It's the first medal for them in 100 years. Before WWI, was the last time. So let's hear it for the boys in the Gymnastics, and celebrate their success!

I don't think you can really blame Japan. The judges should have awarded the dismount in the first place.

Erm...not to make it worse, but...

-If we didn't fall off the high bar
-If we didn't step one inch outside of the floor
-If we didn't land one foot on the red in the Vault

We would have won Silver. Such fine margins, but you look at those mistakes...and we didn't deserve it. Obviously now Japan don't, because of protests, but neither did we really. Too many mistakes. Perhaps Ukraine would have been the better bet, but we pulled it out when we needed to, and we were SO close.

HOWEVER, they should, as was mentioned, awarded the dismount. Then none of this would have happened. Everyone would be happy, and the team would have been lifted.

Blame the judges. The score should have stood, no matter how unjust (*cough* Tennis, Football etc. *cough*).

ANYWAY, it's time for some swimming!

Sure I read somewhere (maybe the Times) that an oil-rich billionaire was going to pay every Ukrainian medalist US$750,000.

Damn unlucky for them if true, along with as you menioned the national investment.

Watched the diving and the gymnastics final (sort of). Bit gutted for Daley and Waterfield, leading after 3 dives before dive number 4 ruined it for them. Have the feeling that if it was 8 dives with the top 6 counted rather than just 6 they would have definitely got a medal. But it isn't so disappointed for them.

Even more gutted for the gymnastics team, as it does almost literally feel like they were robbed. But look at it in another way, first medal in that event for 100 years and a top class team that is one of Britain's best ever.
