Seems you really want to hook up your Wii with a DVI/VGA signal. If you don't mind spending some extra money check out the x2vga2. I use it with my 19" LCD monitor and it works amazingly well.
Myself I wish better online support could be added. Ditch FC and use gamertags, voicechat, centralized online experience ala LIVE.

A 2-gig flash memory drive is only about $20 right now (CDN). Nintendo could easily make a 10-gig drive that cost $50, or just allow us to use normal ones.

The Wii's frame buffer isn't large enough for 720p graphics.
the only last gen console capable of 720p graphics was the xbox, and the reason the 360 is capable of 1080p is because the firmware update enhanced the 360 upscale.
As for what I want in the wii:-
-Built in ethernet port
-some form of HDD
-standard controls packed in
-HD graphics
-stronger infrared LED's on the sensor bar so that I can be further away from my tv
-unified username for online games and online in general, kill the friends code off
-proper support for online games
-black coloured wii
-built in DVD play back with internal upscaler
-VC games made cheaper, cause 8 bucks for a sonic game or any old classic game is a rip off

Gran Turismo 4 had a 1080i mode, and if the PS2 could pull 1080i with a 4MB framebuffer, the Wii should be able to pull out 720p with a (rumored) 3MB one with double buffering.
Just consider that the bandwidth of the Wii's eDRAM is unknown :P
