Forums - PC - Please help with Minecraft sound! I'm at the end of my rope

Ok, so I've been trying off and on to get minecraft's sound working for about ~4 months now. I really need help. Here's the problem:

It used to be whenever I tried to turn the sound on minecraft would freeze then crash, but I googled the problem and it told me to delete certain files. I did it, and now I can move the volume slider, but no sound comes out. The unique thing about this problem is that it is linked to my account, not my computer, I've logged in on 4 different computers and the same problem persists throughout.

Any help would be very appreciated!

Bump for great justice!!

just pull your saves folder out then delete the rest of the install. launch .exe again, will rebuild the mine craft folder, move saves back into folder. should fix it. where its stored is different based on OS version

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

yeah, first things first re-install the game. If that doesn't fix it, try to email Majong maybe? I'm not sure.
